I could watch the scene where she dresses him in her dead husband's armor over and over. I only wish the whole scene went on longer so we could see the entire process. Koyuki is simply amazing in this and her beauty is beyond words.

Watching this movie as a father is so much different than before it. Before you have kids you can be Tom Cruise's character Nathan Algren, after having a kid, you are Katsumoto trying to show his son the right way to live. And when he loses his son, having to reconsider every choice he ever made it feels way different.

If one wants to learn how to life..watch this film..a ton of hidden messages of discipline, subconscious mind control, fearlessness, honor to the highest form etc. When your way OF LIFE IS A THREAT to your government and that's the reason why, its no different today, just look around, everything is laws, bureaucrats, lobbyists, politicians etc...If you don't believe me, go and try pouring a small concrete pad attached to your house without a permit... this film is everywhere and your fooling yourself if you think freedom exist, its an illusion in one's subconscious. "The Last Samurai" is hands down is Tom's best movie.

Dans les combats.... Les codes d' honneur... (se faire arakiri).... La beauté sublime des paysages... La philosophie de vie ancestrale... Toujours les mêmes rituels... Chacun sa tâche... Vraiment... Un très beau film.... Où chaque prise est un tableau...et,les ombres donnent du relief et de la force. Une œuvre d'art. 🎉🎉

actions movies will never be among the greatest as they're basically flashy things one after another. this last samourai has a deep story and great artistic way that can't even compare to most of his movies..

Absolutely. My favorite Tom Cruise movies are The Last Samurai, Collateral, Edge of Tomorrow, MI Rogue Nation, MI 4 and Mission Impossible 7 from last year; and Top Gun Maverick. The Last Samurai has been my favorite film that he's ever been a part of. It's magical and powerful and beautiful.. There are no films like the Last Samurai in the past decade. For historical period pieces, it is one of my all time favorites.

the beauty of the Last Samurai is simply that it is an under-rated picture, an under-rated score, an under-rated cast. this picture was released out of time and yet it remains and shall remain a timeless classic. The Way of Life and how the sounds echo is no less than a masterpiece of Hanz Zimmer. The Last Samurai will live long even after we all die, but it might just tell us moviegoers how the Samurai lived.

Perhaps it was year 2004 when Indian military officer Mr rajyavardhan sir won medal in Olympics and became a celebrity figure in my country India and in an interview he talked about this movie and I watched this masterpiece and later I don’t know how many times I watched this one😊 and one more thing is recently I got my first foreign tour for Japan🎉

I was on the set during the cannon firing, soldier marching. They painted and changed a cricket field in New Plymouth, NZ for those scenes. Most all of this movie was shot in NZ. great movie.
