Everytime I hear the witcher 3 music I cry a little. This game truly is a part of me for the rest of my life. People often say that gaming is a waste of time or it won't do you any good.. But because of gaming I now have something that I will carry with me all my life. Not many people can say that.

This is why I play computer games. No other medium can transport you to a historical or fictional time and place so immersively; from my perspective neither books nor film can give you the experience that a well made game can. The music, world, interactive gameplay and story all combine to create an adventure you never want to end. I'd forgotten just how amazing this game was, but watching this video brought it all back to me in an instant, and I realised, I think I forgot just how much I loved being in this world because it was too painful to remember just how much more at home I was in it than in reality. This game portrays a nostalgic view of the mythical past that resonates with me on a profoundly intuitive level, like a genetic memory passed to me through my ancestors. The world used to be so much more brutal, short and hard...but it was also so much wilder, mysterious and full of intriguing possibility. Stories of monsters in the undiscovered depths of ancient woods would be told at flickering firesides, and you would believe them. But whilst this knowledge filled you with fear, it would also inspire awe and wonder - for if there are monsters, there is magic too.

Nah every single landscape has its beauty! And with beauty I mean absolutely gorgeous views and an incredible feeling (together with the rest of the game's awesome stories/lore and mechanics) that only Witcher 3 ever managed to bring to me in such an intense way. I know I sound like a little fanboy, but W3 is the best game I ever played for me, simple as that. Sure some older (as well as newer) RPGs also were awesome, but for me only W3 managed to shine in every component a game has to offer. (even the developer studio is awesome)

The games are based after the books. Considering the book writer hates the games (likely because he gets zero royalties), I would heavily assume he does not consider the games canon. Also, CD Projekt Red has zero involvement with this show, it's all with the writer, however, I would be shocked if the show did not take at least moderate inspiration from the games. The world, creatures, and characters will most likely look very different from the games.

This game really is indescribable in a few words. I've never played a game that is so atmospheric and narratively rich in the story, characters and the world. I cared about the characters. I cared about the search for Ciri. I cared about whether or not I left the Witcher world in a good state. When I merely think of wandering around the decaying, war-torn land of Velen, the gorgeous, but treacherous city of Novigrad or the lonely, cold islands of Skellige, I smile so much. It was beautiful - simply the best gaming experience anyone can wish for. I mean the main story is brilliant is on its own. But the amount of attention and detail they put into the side quests and witcher contracts was mind-blowing. Once again, I cared for the characters and felt emotion for them. I felt the emotions of the characters. For example, I felt scared when Geralt was travelling to Undvik, I felt sad when Triss left Geralt on the boat in Novigrad. I felt happy when Geralt and Yen got back together. I felt relieved when Geralt and Ciri reunited. I felt heartbroken when Vesemir died. The list goes on and on. I still get nostalgia from when I played it non-stop; it was literally the only game I played for about 4 months. It took a little getting into as the world is very overwhelming and you have to get used to the mechanics and crafting. But once I was into the game, it felt like it was me wondering the word of the Witcher. So much adventure and beauty. Simply fucking marvellous. If anyone wants to know how to make a game, look at this. A once in a lifetime game.

I spent a long time trying to find the right music for the Velen/Novigrad area and tried it with several different pieces from the soundtrack but then found that acoustic cover and immediately felt it was right. It's such a wonderful piece of music already and it without lyrics and just on a simple guitar really stood out. I feel like the cover almost belongs in the OST it's so good. Fits the world wonderfully.

I will always remember landing on Skillige during my first play-through as one of my favorite moments in gaming, as I was lucky to arrive in the midst of an intense thunderstorm. Surrounding me was all the loot from the shipwreck, and in any normal situation I would go running about like a madman mashing E, but I just stopped, jaw hitting my desk, and started walking (yes walking, not running) off into the nearby forest. Bolts of lightning arching across the sky illuminated the dark silhouettes of distant grand mountains and the rain, wind, and the rattling of the trees was nearly deafening; nevertheless, I turned the volume on my headphones up a tad louder. I reached the top of a hill where I had a wondrous view of it all, and then as if on cue, "The Fields of Ard Skellige" started playing. I think that's the only time I've cried while playing a video game. Sometimes, I really wish I had the awareness to record it, but maybe it's good that I can't re-watch it over and over until all the magic of that moment is burned away.

It truly amazes me how a small dev team was able to make what i'd consider the #1 game of this generation (at least so far) while a big company like Bethesda makes some contrived, watered down, poorly written "RPG" like Fallout 4. The game is a marvel to play on PC with Ultra settings.

Excellent video! You have some amazing clips in this. Witcher 3 will go down as my all time favorite game. I can't imagine anything at this time that could dethrone this from its very high pedestal now or in the near future.

If you think GTA is the king of open world games you are objectively wrong.

Shoshone King but it isn't meant to be a sandbox, it's an open world for you to explore and make stories in. If you compared the sandboxness? Of witcher 3 to any actual sandbox game then it would lose but compare it to any other narrative open world game it is the objective winner.

GTA V could of been better if rockstar actually put money into single player DLC's instead of milking online for a decade, their even going to release it on the PS5 just so they dont start loosing money, i hope all the money goes somewhere good like red dead,, but even a game like that, the story was much to short, the Witcher 3 with all of the side quests "which are amazing in their own right" would take 100s of hours to complete, white i completed red dead in under 40

It really make's me sad that i will never again play this game for the first time. I love this game and the witcher universe. It makes me tear up a little that i will never experience the feeling of exploring places like fyke's island, novigrad and toussaint for the first time. Strange how strong emotions this game can create.
