I don't sense condescension. I agree. His English is great by any standard, even for a native English speaker lol. But for a person whose first language Isn't English, it is pretty amazing and I'm around tons of people who have English as second language with varying degrees of comprehension/skill/accent. He probably is just wearing a tinted spf/bb cream to get an even skin tone and just filled the gaps in his brows to make them look fuller and maybe some lip balm and thats all. I think doing this for guys looks really nice and natural and just cleans up their look and makes them look more bright and healthy. I really wouldnt mind seeing this kind of light makeup on guys more commonly in the west... it should be normalized imo. No pressure day to day to use anything for both men and women but when you have to look nice and presentable like at events or interviews, i think a little bit of makeup is nice to look fresh.

Makeup is good for self expression, which is nice, but it inevitably gets used as a divisive tool once it's normalized. I, for one, am quite satisfied that guys don't normally wear makeup. That being said, it'd be nice to be able to without judgement, that's just not a reasonable ask imo

Seoul person here. I agree with most of what he says. The south eastern part of Korea where Busan is located is known to be more conservative and patriarchal.. like men should be like this or women should be like this.. But I feel Seoul is not that liberal either. Even in Seoul guys having long hair and putting on makeup are still slightly out of the norm. Young people like me would think they look cool or don’t mind at all, but older generation people could judge on them. Koreans in general are very sensitive about being in the range of the norm.. 😢

what you said is more for the women, for men he doesn't have to wear it if he doesn't want to. just that in seoul many people more open minded and doesn't really care if a man wear makeup or not, different with his hometown where its frowned upon. he might wear it for any reasons like covering acne scar, make his skintone more even, or he might do it just for fun idk, but its not a 'must' for men.

I'm a beginner learner Korean and dialect is one of the many things I'm struggling with so far. Japanese was a lot easier for me (though I'm still learning it), and I've been complimented on my pronunciation. So, being complimented like that is a dream.

I see nothing wrong with guys wearing makeup. They at least should have a skin care routine. Wearing a tinted moisturizer, cleaning up your brows, applying lip balm, wear nice clothes, cologne, and clean short nails is not too much. Everyone can look better with a little help.

Daegu/Busan: TX- Conservative Daejon: IA/WI- Laid back midwest vibes, slow Kwangju: New Orleans/Gary IN- Good food, but generally undereducated, poor city ( also known for having birth of violent gang members) Jeju: Hawaii- Resort Island, overpriced, speaks Korean but mainlanders can't understand 40% of what they say

Idk why people's make fun when Koreans or Japan or Chinese male do makeup , the makeup fits them and they do it and it's okey , that's the uniques of their country that both males or females mostly wear makeup , if that makeup is not suiting u then don't make fun of them , I am telling this cause in my coaching some young boys do very bad conversation about this when a girl or someone else says they like Korean people's

First of all keep in mind Chinese and Japanese male don't do makeup. Its just only an Korean thing that male do makeup and secondly Do you even know that in the film industries like Hollywood, Bollywood And many others both men and women do makeup and its normal for them
