Great video as always Jess. On the trailer front we have an Aluma MC210 2 place motorcycle trailer which is absolutely fantastic and easily pulled with a half ton truck. It is not enclosed so you lose a little bit of protection for the bikes but it has a good rock guard and being made of aluminum it will last forever. I prefer to ride where I am going but my wife has very limited vacation time so the trailer gets us more time to ride when we get places.

Hey Jess! Keep the Dyna, you will always regret getting rid off it for sure. Renting it out is a great option but keep it in the family! I ride a Road Glide as well so I feel your pain, RG is my comfort zone 😎

It just needs some upgrades. Nothing crazy, new legends shocks, a more ergonomic seat, and a little bigger fairing like a Wedge. It will be a whole new bike for maybe $4k.

I also have both a dyna and a road glide, had a different experience when I got back on the dyna. Really love it. I appreciate all the road glide can do and it's comfort, but the dyna just rumbles my heart more.

I definitely vote for keeping it. The idea of renting it is probably good. The best part of that is that renting it will cover the costs of owning it and you still have it to loan to friends when they come in from Florida and elsewhere. Also, as you said, trailering it with the Scrambler out to events is a great idea! Thoughts on tent... yes! 😅 Wobble!!!!!! Following the weight-loss journey. I'm in need of starting my own. Riding for food and drink IS half the fun. Maybe 3/4. Lol. But if we keep doing this... we will be 3/4... TON!! 😂 And I say that about me, not you. Stroller and a dog sounds like the beginning of a good joke. 😅 That sissy bar though... it's a gem. I was so stoked when you put that on. Laterzzz! 👋

Wooble, 😂! It's amazing how comfortable the road glide is. I got rid of my sport glide 7 months ago and went to the road glide. I had gotten use to the weight, but it wasn't until I demo'd the breakout and low rider st, that I knew I had made the right decision. Just added a road sofa seat, buck50 12 inch bars, and a touring windshield, freaking in love with it!

As far as the bike... my thoughts lean more to leave it as is or pass it up for a. different choice. Hopefully you'll be able to find a happy reason to hold on to the Dyna. If not... well you do make the bulky fairing bike look good (not a fan of farings myself... in general they just ruin the bike look to me, anyway). Like it's said "Ride your own ride." Keep the vids coming. Til next time

Started watching you back over 2.5 years ago when I had mu super guide. Just didn't have to prove myself to anyone so after a hard windy ride into the VA in Albuquerque on I 40 I went and got my Freewheeler. I be 69 in Oct. So do what you enjoy and like I say Be safe,ride safe and enjoy life. Yep I listen to all of this great video.

Gotta say, it's great to see you out on your dyna again like the old days. However, we change as time goes by. Our priorities and comforts shift, and if that means selling something a previous version of yourself was so attached to then do it. I love the idea of it being available for rent, and I would be jazzed to get a chance to ride it. Fans coming to your house to pick it up might be messy. Love what you do, keep it up!

Jess take us for a ride to Waldo and stop in at The G&R for a Bologna Sandwich and some Curly Fries. I lived in Delaware 40 years ago and we were at the G&R twice a week. I now live in north east Ohio but I head down to Dublin for a doctor visit every April-May and heading home we hop on 23 North past Delaware up to Waldo and the G&R. How many of your viewers and subscribers have ever heard or been to Waldo? But once they tasted the "World Famous G&R Bologna Sandwich" They would go monthly if they lived in Ohio. You and Justin got to go , But you have to do a G&R Waldo visit. God Bless You Jess and thanks for taking a senior citizen for some Harley Rides, mine is a 1200 Custom.

I totally understand! Once you go bagger, it's very very hard to go back! Once you lay down a ton of miles on a smooth, good handling, powerful machine with music that's louder than the exhaust, and tons of space to store things, it's hard to go back! I mean, the Dyna looks cool, there's no doubt, but it's going to be really hard to walk by Appa!

My first bike was a 2015 48 sportster that I never thought I'd let go of. The last time I rode it, 3 yrs ago, I knew I just couldn't ride it anymore. It absolutely rattled my brain and hurt my body. I don't regret selling it to someone who can enjoy riding it. It was a bad ass bike that I'm grateful to have had and learn to ride on. 😎

Hey Jess, ya,ll dont worry about you having enough truck to pull a trailer, we pulled a 7x14 enclosed with 2 bikes from myrtle beach south carolina to sturgis sd with out any problems with a half ton gmc dint get but 10 miles per gallon but we didnt expect much more than that pulling at 70 mph most of the time on interstate my friends have a half ton chevy they pull the same kind of trailer you will be fine

i trailer my 2020 goldwing o lot in my enclosed trailer and love it. i can bring full size camping gear [ stand up tent, full size chairs, a large cot ] and go out exploring each day on my bike. i lock up the valuables in truck and trailer before leaving site , and have the truck to explore if the weather goes to shit. its great and economical for me. just get an all aluminum trailer and your truck will tow it fine. sell the dyna, and get something useful imho

Try the Heritage. I went through several Harleys until I found the right one. It is like a convertible touring model. Light weight and you can strip it down in a couple of minutes or go on full tour package with quick release hardware. One smooth ride!

Jess you love your Harley glide and money is something we can all use. I would sell use the money for your trailer or your pull behind cycle camper check out the kompact kamper mini mate is a great unit in buying one next year. For this summer still tenting and love it. I'm updating a lot of my current stuff.😊

Keep it, maybe rent. An open utility trailer can give you dual use for one price and registration fee, bikes and projects. I converted my small boat trailer to haul my scout, and is a game changer for me. I go to an area 2 to three hundred miles away, then camp or motel it, and ride all day then come back to home base. I don't have to pack so much on the bike that way.

I had/have a Dyna Fatbob. Totally underwater during hurricane Ian. Surprised it didn’t float away! Gonna try to rebuild it if I can ever get it down from my nieces in N. FL.. Might look into a RG. Just don’t wanna give up on my first Harley so I know how you feel. Being without ANY bike right now SUCKS! I say keep it. Rent it. Loan it to guests. BTW… moved to Fort Myers Beach from Columbus in 9/21 so I always like to watch you ride those same roads I used to ride. Ride safe! Enjoy!

Love your ride on the "old" Dyna! Got to say that being from somewhat the same general area it's always fun to watch and know the roads your on too. I know how hard it can be to let loose of your first Harley. Still have the 1983 Low Rider we bought new in '83. Not as comfortable as my '16 or '22, but the ride is so nostalgic! Oh, and by the way, WOBBLE! :)

A very good friend, Dave "Crow" Henson, once told me that bikes are made to be ridden. If they're not ridden they lose their soul. He would loan out his extra bike whenever someone needed a bike. He ended up selling his spare bike because it wasn't ridden enough.

Keep it! I sold my first Harley….a sportster one….I know there is comparable point but it was my first one. I bought another sporty for City ride with a single seat…and I have a Road King Classic with cruise control and all that for my long rides. Keep it with out a doubt.

Wobble ❤❤😂😂 and I’m there with ya! My first Harley was my 01 Sporty and I’m to old to fat to ride it anymore. My wife and kids are planning on riding it. I sold it once and it broken y heart I bought it back a few yrs later for more then I sold it for! It can sit in the stables and I’ll go out and vroom vroom on it once in awhile, family friends come to visit they can ride it till I hand it off to my younger generation!

Trade it in in a Goldwing so Jordan's got some comfort on the long hauls. My wife and I gave up some bikes we liked a lot as we aged in exchange for comfort on the long hauls. I miss them, but you quickly get over it with the creature comforts.

Long time follower - first post! Been there since the early Dyna days! I have a 2012 FXDC and can't tell you how many times someone has told me "I had a Dyna; wish I hadn't sold it!" Keep it to loan-and-rent! I do appreciate the nice comfort and features about a touring style bike. I'm about to purchase a used Ultra Classic from a neighbor and for longer rides it'll be such an improvement. But, for me, I love the torque and "flickability" of my Dyna, and I'm certain I'd miss that. Love your posts and really enjoyed it when you hung around with Shadetree!

I had a 95 Dyna, 90 Inch Evo. I sold it to buy my Road King, which has a 96 CI engine. You can always put a bigger motor in your Dyna if it isn't fast enough for you. You might consider the Fance and Hines Big Radius pipes for your Dyna. They still sound great, but the exhaust is aimed toward the ground, so you don't get so much noise. I still miss my Dyna, as it was so nimble. BTY, Wobble!

Well! When you don't know anymore, that means that the Dyna is on its way to a new owner and that is perfectly acceptable to do, because back in the old days people rode horses 🐴 and now they use awesome cars 🚘 so ! get your new motorcycle with all the new goodies and enjoy life Jess. Remember you only have one life to live! So make it the best you can. Jess, as I've watched your videos, you have given me the impression that you are somewhat an "ambassador" of motorcycling, in other words, you share your knowledge and such. That being said, I say what was once your first motorcycle could be someone else's first motorcycle. Find someone who wants to get riding, and make a deal. Chopping it would be like making a barroom out of an old church, don't you think? And making it a rental, the insurance increase with upkeep and all, money going out at an enormous rate. That's my two cents. I wish you the best in making your decision.

Keep it, I have a 2002 VTX1800 with drag pipes and lots of other goodies. I bought a newer Goldwing and love it but I keep the VTX for when I want to make a little noise and trust me you will want to makes some noise lol. I almost sold it but when the persons was coming to buy I told him I couldn't do it. He laughed and said I don't blame you. Oh and Wobble lol

The Dyna I had was the one I miss the most because it felt like a real bike. No cruise no comfy feel . just a solid motorcycle. Sell it. Continue to comfort.

Keep it. I wish I could have kept my Dad's sportster I inherited but it did get me on the road king I am riding now. Me being 6'-4" the sportster was a little small.
