Garo's had a reputation of being fierce headhunters ...... Garo's have 12 subtribe..each subtribe has a different dialect with different tone (A'we,Atong,Ruga,Matchi,Dual,Ambeng,Matabeng,chibok,chisak,Gara ganching,Migam).

All the indigenous tend to have very similar story due to the same geographical and climatic condition. Also its very likely that every tribe have met each other at some point of time and dealt with the same condition at the very same time.

Garo Anchestors were Sinotibetan Tribes (Ancient Han Chinese), in the past Ancient Chinese mostly tribal. When migrate , it preserve the culture and dialect, meanwhile it mainland society in China moveon to another next dynasty culture and dialect, but some preserve as minority tribe in China , that can be link more easily to the one that migrate.
