Can’t believe I’m just now watching this. How cool is that??? Making a video tutorial on fine tuning a Buzzbait and catching a toad to hammer the point home!! Quick question. How do you keep a Buzzbait from running on it’s side? Kinda like the blade is on the left and the hook on the right during the retrieve.

Awesome video and very informative. I had a buzz bait that was temperamental bc it didn't take much to get it to end up running the other way and then adjust it and it would go the opposite direction. I had to get it as close as I could and just live with it, I think it was an academy cheapo. Which was way better than the $1 one from Walmart bc even dinks would get it all bent out of shape

Good info, are there adjustments like that for spinnerbaits? To change how they run?

You want to keep both arms of a spinner bait in line so it tracks true, but you can also open the arms up to create a tad more thump or close them a tad for less vibration which will allow you to reel them faster.

Hey thanks man you shot me this think on another buzzbait video because I said when I cast and start reeling my buzzbait stays underwater for about 20ft before it finally pops to the top to buzz like it’s supposed to so I appreciate the comment back and the link to this video hopefully these tips work because it’s the only buzzbait I have and I wanna catch a fish and feel confident before I try to buy anymore so yeah thanks again hopefully these tips work because it’s annoying to watch a “top water” not come to the top for quite a bit and then when it does the bait is like side ways coming in lol I couldn’t tell if it was coming in straight because I was fishing a river idk why I chose the river to be the first place to throw a buzzbait but I did but I noticed it was just sideways coming threw the water the skirt wasn’t right under the blade

Make sure your skirt is even all around the shaft. If it's bunched up on one side that could cause that issue.

Hey what makes a Buzzbait run on its side I've had 2 now that runs on there side, not run to the side but the blade is on one side and the plastic on the other

If you're running a skirt it's usually because the skirt is bunched up on one side, or with a plastic it may not be centered.

What if the buzzbait is running sideways? I expect the blade to be on top and the bait at the bottom but my setup is basically lying down on one side when i retrieve it. How do I fix that?

I'd guess that the upper arm isn't parallel with the main shaft.

The Accent buzzbaits come with the skirt off, but even with other brands that have the skirt on they usually run off to one side or the other.
