Chia is VERY easy to grow. Anyone of a certain age will remmeber the advertisement 'ch-ch-ch-chia!' Chia Pets were a thoroughly underrated real-world teaching tool for young children. Every homeschooler and teacher should consider a module introducing plant biology and horticulture through growing chia.

Yes, I do remember those and the commercial. I did try growing some outside but something ate them as soon as the sprouted so I may try again inside

Oh I forgot! Once I soaked the seeds in a liquid and 4:08 poured it out on the soil, my chickens went crazy eating the sprouts. Learned by accident!

My favorite way to eat chia is in a super simple pudding. I put a couple tablespoons of seeds in an 8 oz jar, add a splash of vanilla, some maple syrup, a pinch of salt, and fill the jar about halfway with milk or half & half. For the first 5-10 minutes, shake it every minute or so to keep the seeds from clumping together. Leave it in the fridge overnight, then add some heavy cream in the morning. Yuuuuummmmm! It’s a great substitute when I have an ice cream craving but don’t want to take time to make ice cream. It is very filling and quite satisfying!

Thank you Heidi! I was recently introduced to chia in pomegranate juice. I put about 2 tablespoons in a pint jar, fill it with pomegranate juice (for me a little water too) and stash it in the fridge overnight. At first, I had to get past the texture thing but now I Love it! It also keeps me from snacking between meals. As the days are getting warmer, it's very refreshing! Blessings! 💜

Fun Fact? I have a hoot, when I go to the Dr Office? Controlling my Blood Pressure, as the go to Test it. Once I Bet the Assistant, that I could Lower my Pressure MORE, if she wants to Keep Testing? She said No, I don't want to Find Out! Lol I do it by Breathing. Contrary to common thought? How your breath, the exhale Slowly. Intake Slowly. And POOF! Low Pressure! My Normal AT 64, STILL is 120/70. A Teenager's Pressure. I happened to have a Higher once? I was surprised! I said surely you need to do it again! That isn't Right. So she ran it again. I Dropped it. The nineteentink, where Cowboys grew up on a ranch in Arizona and for a living I did. Europeans from all over the world. Are you tired doing that 2 dead Gemini? Mi'll horseback to 1 hour to 2 hours by Monument Valley. So yeah, we did very. We were famous. That's all I can say and you're a cutie. I really enjoy watching you. I didn’t know chia seeds did so much! I have to be really careful what I feed Mike because of his heart device & his doctor is not a fan of natural medicine. I was wondering what chia seeds taste like? Do they have a nutty flavor or are they bland, just used for the nutritional value? I also wondered if they could be ground like pepper and sprinkled on food? Thanks, Shalom!

I was just about to grow some chia sprouts. Sprouts always have similar but different nutrient content than the actual seed. I wonder what the differences are with chia. The sprouts are hard to grow, just like arugula because they release a gel that makes it hard to get going and trust me don't ever rinse those seeds in your house as that gel will clog your drains.
