Fasting as a Muslim is done 1. To please Allah as it's mentioned in the Quraan that Allah had prescribed fasting as He prescribed it to nations before so that we may attain "taqwa" or mindfulness of Allah... You see, when it's done spiritually and you don't feed the body with worldly pleasures... the soul becomes rejuvenated and you feel closer to Allah. It's is thus a form of worship. The bodily and emotional benefits are also beneficial but come naturally as a result of sincere fasting.

You have been fasting for the 12 hours during day, but you were eating the next 8-12 hours during night? So, how can you say Muslims fast? All they do is flip or reverse their eating time from day to night. We eat during the day, and they eat during the night and call it 'fasting'? But is that fasting? Then, all the others are fasting at night during Ramdan while they are FEASTING at night during Ramadan.

@@aha.. bruh we eat during morning 4:30 am then we won't eat anything or drink anything upto 6:40 , its not easy dude , it's almost 13 hours we don't drink anything and eat anything , then we eat at night , so overall we are having 2 meals a day , but 13 hours of no water and food , try it one day you will understand, and we don't sleep during the 13 hours , according to ur logic u say u are fasting in night then us too , we too don't eat fully upto midnight we eat only less ,

@@aha.. Our goal from fasting is not torture ourselves or to get healthy. The only reason muslims fast is because this is ordered by Allah and we should do this. And fasting in Islam is not only stopping to eat and drink, but it's stopping to sleep with their wife/husband, stopping to hear bad words, talking bad words or fighting with others and etc. Medical and mental benefits are just benefits of muslims' fasting, not the reason.

You don't follow the Quran rules for fasting. and the Quran contradicts the teachings of Moses for fasting. Leviticus 23. Isaiah 58 You can't change the rules. That's called a false prophet.

I am a Hindu and I've seen my mom fasting for 24 hours without any food or water and Nirjala vrat are too common in India .The married Hindu women do fasting for hours and even days .For example - Hartaali ka Teej , Karwa chaut , Vat savitri , etc.

Verse 283 surah Baqara: يا أيها الذين آمنوا كتب عليكم الصيام كما كتب على الذين من قبلكم لعلكم تتقون The aya’s meaning is: O you who believe, fasting is written for you as it was written on those before you, so that you may fear. Yes , in Islam we fast for the health benefits and to feel how it would feel to be poor to humble ourselves, but the main reason is to fear and obey Allah.

nope… This is the BIGGEST mistake people tell others. It shows that you are not educated about why we muslims fast. We do ABSOLUTELY NOTTT fast to feel with the poor…why? Because the poor is fasting TOO. We muslims fast to build a stronger connection between yourself and Allah. During Ramadan you should not sleep and watch series. But you should stay up at night and pray, Read Quran more often, Saying the salawat on Muhammad saws, and doing other good deeds. I hope i could educate you more about Islam (: May Allah accept it from you and me, Amin💕
