just picked up a ruger red label that was shot 4 times, for 800 bucks my first over under cant wait to get it to the range.

Did you just say compact length of pull make it a breeze to handle. Ya if you a small man.. or a woman or child. You immediately lost credibility first gun. Thats not how legth of pull works. Also the silver reserve has horrible long term reviews. The condor has no barrel selector .. And i suspect.. you have shot ZERO of these firearms. And are basically bench racing these models

By far the best over and under shotguns for hunting is a side-by-side. The breech doesn't have to opened near as far to expel the shells and reload.

Over and under and side by side are 2 completely different actions. Secondly not even close. That's why 90% of upland hunters carry a over under as well as trap shooters. Side by side have their audience. And many shoot both. But they are not a over under

@@dormantmenace Please explain how the action of an over/under shotgun differs from the action of a side by side. All firearms have basically the same action: Pulling the trigger releases the hammer which strikes a firing pin which hits the primer which ignites the power that fires the bullet/shot/projectile. The loading and reloading procedures or what it different. What makes a side by side more practical for hunting is one doesn't have to open the breech as far to reload. In the southwest, which is 'my' hunting area, there are often obstructions that make opening the breech completely requires repositioning yourself, the shotgun or both. You failed to explain what advantage the over/under 'action' has over the 'action' of a side by side. Please do so.
