I bought my first Red Hill for my CZ TSO, and its was definitely one of the more carefully crafted holsters ive come across. Have bought a number of them since then, and they have all been excellent, though havent tried their active retention yet. They definitely put effort into their holsters and it shows, especially when compared to some others... Solid company with a great rep Thanks for the code, will be put to use immediately 😁

Saw Robert King on a podcast called Shooters Mindset several years ago and impressed and gave them a try. Have 6 of their holsters now, they are second to none, my IDPA rig for my 1911 I have mag pouches also. They are the best IMHO. Glad you guys sharing about them, well done and all the best!

Thank You Sirs! This was perfect timing to show how the holster works with optic, no optic, oversized safety. Good on Red Hill Tactical! 👍🇺🇸 #22aday

I also have a Masterpiece Arms DS9. Beautiful pistol. After watching your video I ordered the RedHill Tactical holster. As you said it took one month. When I received it I was pleased. HOWEVER about the 8th or 9th time of practice drawing the mechanism literally burst into pieces. I contacted Red Hill Tactical and talked to Christie. She basically told me it was my fault because I didn't remove the screws and apply Loxktite. Well maybe I was but if I was supposed to I did not see ant big notice sign in the package nor would I expect the need to complete assembly. When I had not heard anything I called back and was told they don't make that mechanism so the don't have the screws special nuts and rubber spacers I lost when it burst into pieces. In other words they just passed me off after I called. When I called back and was told they don't make that part of the holster I had to ask how can I get the parts I need. I was told they would contact them and have them send the parts. That was a month ago and I still have not received any parts or follow up from the company. Customer service is horrible. It would be a nice holster if I could get the retaining mechanism. Right now i only have an expensive level one!

Think you need to do an in depth video of your entire holster setup. I would like the exact same belt/holster combo that you have shown here with the redhill and your current belt. Thanks

@@XRING you bet. Any updates on the MPA DS9 Hybrid? I know you have a lot of 2011s but were you liking that pistol enough to use it in more than one 3gun match?

Too bad they don't make duty holsters, it's almost impossible to find a level 2 duty holster for a 2011 with optic and a light.

I EDC a full size handgun. Not to dive too deep into the weeds, I just don't like most compacts and sub-compacts. I find them to be atrocious ergonomic nightmares for my 6'6" 270 pound gorilla hands. Carrying a full size handgun makes you appreciate a good belt and holster. I've also found a Level II retention device is absolutely necessary. It could just be a leather strap and a snap on a leather holster with a thumb break, but you need something keeping your pistol in the holster besides friction. As alluded to in this video, full size handguns will have enough mass and inertia to allow them to provide a real challenge for most friction holsters when you start moving around with them. I've had my handgun spill out of my holster and into the next stall in a public restroom. I've taken a tumble down the side of a mountain and had my Glock 20 break free from the holster and tumble twenty feet further down the shale rock slide I had taken the gravity way down. When you are active in the outdoors, hiking, hunting, kayaking ect, shit happens. If you handgun hangs up on a branch or a support bar for your tree stand and falls twenty feet out of a tree, or your kayak flips and your holster is empty when you get upright, that is a pretty big oopsie. To prevent these types of incidents, you need Level II retention. Additionally, these devices provide an additional layer of protection for those times you are shoulder to shoulder in line at Walmart and some mouth breathing basement dweller bumps into you from behind and starts looking at you with pupils all dilated on Adderall like he might decide to get froggy and snatch at that lump he just felt. Level II retention can help keep your handgun from being their handgun for long enough for you to contest and get an edged weapon in the fight before you are shot with your own gun. Carrying a fullsize handgun can be done, but it requires a good belt and a good Level II retention holster. I just ordered a Red River Tactical Type 1 with the Level II hood for a Gen 4 Glock 20 I have having JagerWerks cut for a Holosun 509T.
