I found it difficult to tell one artists work from another. They are all quite nice, but repetitive. They also look more like quick sketches.

Of the choices available, I really must say that John Yardley gets my vote. I love how everything looks so "clean"; the walls on the buildings, the bottoms of the boats. It's like everything had a "bath" before John sat down and painted it!....love it!

The music is from an album called 'the Piano Room' and it's called Back to Old Streets. You can get it on itunes. Hope that helps :-)

@@margaretmaguire3329 Yes, Margaret, that was a ignorant Yank calling an Aussie W/C genius because of his accent. Now, years later, I have been a student of Joseph's at a few of his workshops. BTW I also know Joseph by "Z" and know his name is Zbukvic very well now!

@@gmonet46There are a lot of great Aussie watercolourists , I was fortunate enough to attend a summer art retreat here in Australia 10 years ago with my art tutor friend. Joseph ,Alvaro, & Herman Pekel “The 3 Amigos “did their Big Picture as entertainment at night it was amazing , it was auctioned off to support a good cause. The University throws open its doors to art when it closes for student holidays summer and winter only expert tutors teach (in all mediums ) it’s the Sturt uni. Anyhow just waffling on, there are amazing American watercolourist that I follow on Utube and they don’t seen to mind imparting their knowledge which is great and generous 🎨😀😷

Not saying this paintings were bad ,, it´s just that I have seen better.

What strikes me here is how similar all these artists are. They're all painting the same subject matter in the same way. Probably all are fans of Seago and Wesson. And there's no reason for all this conformity, Sargent, Homer, Hilder and Russell Flint were all distinct voices, there should be some attempt to break away from this conformity, Chris Forsey is a good example of an artist with his own ideas.

I am not agree that all the painters are 21st century masters, there are some that just copy the style of masters of the past like Wesson and Seago. They dont even bother to get there own style! I saw a dvd once, it was not convincing me that Wesson painted like that. Chamberlain, Hoar Green, Yardley and Ranson are unique painters. but Hall??

I think these works are inappropriately categorized as 21st century Impressionists. The styles are more 19th-20th century Realism. They may have been painted this century but they fit in an earlier time--nothing wrong w/that--just it's not cutting edge. Nor does it resemble very much the paintings of the Impressionist movement--that's ok too--there are a lot of really bad knockoff paintings done in impressionist style--these aren't those, thankfully.
