@AylenPark Sure, but in doing so, you can make a place go viral and, in turn, they up their prices. So now, their original customers may no longer be able to afford their new prices. But that's not a bother to you, right? Because you make money off of this content so ypu can still afford what you want.

i think the actual service costed $25 but then she might’ve tipped them $10 so her total at that salon was $35 or she’s just stupid and forgot the correct orice

No it's $35 not including tips this is my hair salon. But im not sure if its cheaper if u have short hair. I have long. The prices went up like crazy since covid. Honestly it's still cheaper than ur typical American places but it used to be $20+ for wash and blow out. Now it's $35. Wash, Cut, Blow out used to be $35-38 if you have long hair. Now it's like abt $50-55. Also if you're going on a weekend make sure u build in ur schedule an hr or so. Cause it's almost always at about 30 min wait. Its located in Chinatown, NYC but this place is constantly packed since a lot of non Asian ppl go here now. Also if ur looking for nice, clean chic...this is not the place. The couches is so dented u slump in

I'd kill for a haircut to be 40-60 dollars. In Norway, I'm happy when I get a trim and only get charged 70 dollars for a men's haircut T_T I swear it didn't used to be this bad when I was a kid.

not even close, I pay £75 ($95) for my quarterly wash and cut. £40-60 is if it's a chain that can reduce cost due to it's wider operation

I actually went to a salon like this, the prices were really cheap and “free” massages were handed out and so were snacks but there was a catch. Once I was done they straight up got to the point and asked for a tip. I was shocked, i gave the a 15 dollar tip and they got mad and made me pay more. Unbelievable experience.

The salon is providing a service. and with any service it is social protocol to tip. If you didn't offer a tip, they were calling you out on your disrespect and your lack of knowledge of social protocol. They probably asked you for more because they didn't want you to come back.

Nobody can "make" you pay more. A tip is always optional. If you didn't want to leave it, you didn't have to. They can pressure you, of course, but they can't decide for you. So it's your fault that you gave in. But it's ok, if you learn from your mistakes!

@@Alicia_W413It depends on where the commenter is from. In the US, there is a social expectation that you will tip someone providing you a beauty service. It’s just as ingrained and longstanding as tipping your waiter or housekeeper. This isn’t an example of recent tipflation.

I was blessed to be in Thailand for a month in Bangkok. I got my hair done there a couple times while I was there it was the best experience I’ve ever had. The care they take the massage everything was like nothing I’ve ever gotten US.

@@save_hyruleif you notice the service price menu, it says that shampoo and blow-dry is between $25-$35. There's no tip there just a bracket of prices depending on the factors of the service. If someone can't understand following a menu then that person should definitely not be on the internet
