Hello. I was just wondering if you were still planning on doing a "Bellows system vs. focus stacking" example video? You mentioned it some months back, but I'm guessing perhaps you didn't write the idea down for later and it slipped your mind. A lot of us would be very interested in that video!

The studio stand is indeed life changing. I bought mine used 2007 or so. When I shut down the business I sold it for more than I paid for it. Would have loved to keep it, but I was in a commercial space when working. Was really too much to haul home.

The point about the bellows hood going flat against the tank was brilliant. Three very good points and insights here. Thanks Scott!

Couldn't agree more about the camera stand. I was very lucky on ebay. Photographer was emigrating to the States and only a close up of the stand was shown, but I knew exactly what it was. I put in a last minute bid, but was the only bidder and got it for the reserve of £250. It was a Foba ASABA 6ft. Roller bearings, smooth as silk, solid as a rock. Had to pick it up from Chelsea, about 65 miles away. Collected it in bits in my then Audi A6. Drove home very slowly and the suspension survived! My fav bit of studio kit by far!

Recently I have been investing some time in my studio (shed) getting my head around and making good use of the EOS Utility program Canon give us Canon shooters. Wireless tethering has been a revelation. Very simple to setup and get on with shooting with having to go near the camera unless I need to. Going to acquire one for those extended battery things as soon as I can locate one & thank you for all the sharing you freely give us all.

yes, definitely agree about the studio stand, one point about it, it is a forever purchase, as it weighs 25+ KG's it can hold mf and LF monorails easy, that's what they where built for!!, so as you up the camera, no further need to upgrade the sticks, the HEAD, maybe, from a ball to a geared or 3-way head, but these are not a lot of money, as compared to the sticks.

Good advice, once I no longer live in a flat with hardwood floor (moves a lot when you step anywhere in the room) I might look into a studio stand.

Scott, why dont you just use a cable release on the mamiya lens? Just set it on T and use the cable release to open the shutter and the lens will remain open so you can use the aperture ring.

Scott, this may sound silly to you, but my best piece of hardware is the remote shutter release that I bought. It keeps be completely off the camera so well that while I'm playing with my photo subjects I now have to remember to step out the lights. I love my little clicker button!

It depends on the camera and brand of sunny battery you use. If you use a good brand you will be fine. But we can’t get the good ones here atm for this camera

This is great but a little too quick and lacking in details of exactly which external battery you use & which connectors or dummy battery. I’m about to power my 5dsr externally and would love to know how you do it.
