Awesome finds in this abandoned storage unit. Seems that this was part of the inventory of an older soldier (USMC) who passed away. Congrats on the 14 k gold ring and the sterling silverware, big score ! Keep up your excitement and keep on your successful digging in part 2. Greets from GER, U.

My brother and sister both served in the Viet Nam War. When I find dog tags in bags of junk jewelry or Goodwill lots, I try my best to find the families. I've been successful a couple of times. I just can't imagine how they wind up in junk jewelry stuff. Nice finds and you are a big help to Tony. That clean-out stuff is a lot of work.

This is sad to me because it seems like a unit that belonged to someone that went into long term care, and no one knew to pay the storage fees (or no one cared), and then they passed away. Hi Tony! 🙋 You are a good pal to Renee, to allow her to help. Need more folks like you in the world! 👍💯

Hi Renee, What an exciting unit. I love how you got so excited over things you find, like the 80's stuffed animals and t-shirts. Tony was excited about the silver, too, huh? Can't wait for the next video on the unit. I watch all your videos and have been a subscriber for a few years now. Have a wonderful day. God bless you always. 🙏🙂♥️🙂🙏

That unit is a treasure trove! How exciting you get to help uncover all those bags and boxes. Such a bummer about the little critters chewing through the military jackets 😩 I'm glad you were able to save a few of those shirts for yourself and even some 80s plush! I did spy a bunny blow mold up on the top, do you think that will come home with you too? 😉

Thank you for not throwing any of it away. If you close to DC they have a thrift store that takes them and when they need a uniform to be buried in they supply the family with them for free . It's the Fort Meyer thrift store in Arlington VA

I was born and raised in Hawaii. The town I lived in was right next to Schofield army Barracks. It was the home of the 25th Infinitry. I watched several times as truck load after truck load of young men were being shipped out to Vietnam. I cried when you found the shirts that had Vietnam on them. Over 50,000 soldiers died in that useless and unnecessary war. Sorry to be so down beat but we cannot forget them.
@MooreCEJr Жыл бұрын
The stripes is a non-commission officer rank called Sergeant (E-5) Sergeant is a junior noncommissioned officer rank in the USMC, and the oldest rank in the Marine Corps. Sergeants serve as squad leaders in combat operations, and lead a squad of eight soldiers including one or more Corporals.

I’ve been watching news reports and footage on KZfaq of the flooding going on out in Yellowstone that closed the park. I feel so bad, first of course for the people who are there and are directly affected, but also for Renee, because we all know she has a special place in her heart for Yellowstone. I’ve been watching her old uploads, starting from the beginning and I recently watched her videos of her 2019 trip out there. She really did a good job of conveying her love for the area. I hope she’ll soon be able to return to the area.
@PaperandMoose2 жыл бұрын
It's so sad for those that live in the northern part outside of the park, as they have lost so much. The northern part of Yellowstone will most likely be closed for the remainder of the season, but once flooding has receded and roads in the east/west/southern part of the park are accessed, it will re-open (though they are talking about having to make reservations just to enter the park).

Based on the Marine Service A jacket, you should find a pair of matching trousers with a pair of red stripes along the outside seam. USMC leaders, which is signified by the Sergeant's stripes on the Service A jacket, wear 'blood stripes' on their dress trousers to commemorate the courage and tenacious fighting of the men who fought in the Battle of Chapultepec in September of 1847.

Oh my gosh that IS the unit of a LIFETIME!!!! Years ago I had a unit that I couldn’t afford to pay for anymore. It was a very hard and sad time in my life and we didn’t have a home to put the stuff in let alone pay for it. I am sure it was auctioned off and though there was items/stuff I wish I could have kept the ONLY tote I wished I could have had was full of pictures from when I was in school, my kids baby books and pictures of my kids. I only hope and pray though that it was someone like you Renee that bought it and would take care of the “stuff” that was in there ❤️

I was a landlord in N St. Louis from 1988-2003, and when we did make-ready clean outs we often tried to figure out what happened to the tenants. Upon first entry it often looked like they set off a bomb in the unit scattering all their personal effects. They left behind birth certs, marriage certs, SSNs, court docs, etc Very disconcerting at first, then it became new normal. Often we just hauled clothes to nearest church ( low income folk do not have Coach purses, expensive clothes, etc)
