That high pitched sound the inverter makes on these variable Infinity A/Cs can be a deal breaker if it's close to your deck or whatever
@albertairinc.1140
@albertairinc.1140 4 ай бұрын
Condensers can make several different pitches when operating depending on the speed its running at. People hear the sound in different ways. The pitch or noise it makes can be modified with airflow adjustments and refrigerant charge in terms of pressure changes due to temperature.

Great video; I have only installed one of those so far. The installation of the condenser looks clean and nice; well done. But the inside unit could have used the same love from the outside unit. 🙃

why not leave 12" of clearance away from the wall like the code recommends? Crazy to spend that much money on a system and then restrict the air flow by putting it right against the wall
@albertairinc.1140
@albertairinc.1140 Жыл бұрын
The code is what the manufacturer specs recommend, which is 6 inches in this situation. The unit will perform at 100% capacity with this configuration. So, it is not necessary to put it 12 inches off of the wall and take up more space then needed. Also, we considered the customers walkway and adjasent pool house for clearance.

Why was that system placed so close to the wall, the outdoor unit should have been atleast 1 feet away from the wall.. minimum..

@albertairinc.1140 Жыл бұрын
The condenser is 6 inches off of the wall with several feet to the left, right and front of the unit which meets the Carreir manufacturer specifications for this units clearance requirements. You can refer to the Carrier quick start and installation guide for model #24VNA6 to see the clearance requirements.

I'm sorry to heat about that. Are you the installing dealer or the customer? Aa a Carrier Factory Authorized Dealer we have a direct line to the customer assurance rep for our area. I have always had great support for my customers. If you are the installing dealer then you need to talk to your local Carrier distributers customer assurance department. If you are the customer you need to call the installing contractor and have them contact the Carrier distributer for support with your issue.

Minute 1:10 I read only the 3 ton will work at 25% capacity not the 4 & 5 ton
@albertairinc.1140
@albertairinc.1140 Жыл бұрын
That is correct. The 3 ton will go down to 25% capacity on the lowest speed, where as the 4 and 5 ton go down to 34% capacity on the lowest speed. It will also depend on the advanced settings when you set up the system configuration in the Carrier Infinity thermostat. You can adjust those levels to your liking.

We recently got a remodel job that has 10 of these units. All heat pumps. All of them have a “muffler” on the suction line and 3 of them are leaking refrigerant. Is the refrigerant muffler necessary or can you do without it?

You haven't seen the XVI yet then. Years ago I'd be up front and tell homeowners they'd pay more for Trane but the quality was there. Now days you'll pay the same or more for carrier or Lennox junk and miss the quality. I'm not new and have installed and fixed them all. If they made one that didn't break I'd never know about it because I've been doing 60-80 hours a week for a long time and nobody calls when they work great. The truth is buy the cheapest one possible or get the 10 year part and labor warranty. You will need it but most warranties don't transfer with property sale.

24" coil on a 21" furnace without a tapered sheet metal transition? Also all that fancy equipment and a basic 1" filter? Why?
@albertairinc.1140
@albertairinc.1140 6 ай бұрын
Carrier does not make a 21" wide coil in the 5 ton size. So we use the 24" wide coil. There is no need for a transition because the opening on the bottom of the coil is 20" which matches to the opening on the top of the furnace that is also 20". For the filter we use a 1" pleated merv 13 filter that does a great job and then they have an iWave air purifier which puts out positive an negative ions into the air stream to clean the air that way.

That's great to hear that your Carrier Infinity system performing great after 15 years with no issues. The furnace in the video is an 80% AFUE furnace, that is why it is vented with a 4 inch metal b-vent per code on all 80% furnaces. If we would have gone with a 90%+ furnace we would have installed the PVC flue vent for that unit

I thought 25c tax credit was up to 30% of the job cost capped at $2k for high efficiency air cooled heat pumps.

There is a tax credit for both heat pumps and air conditioning condensers. AC condensers get up to $600 for any efficieincy over 16+SEER2. Heat pumps get a tax credit of up to $1,200 for the installation and $2,000 for efficiency of 15.2+SEER2 or higher. So a heat pump system can get up to $3,200 tax credit based on your income level. @fijiman88
@fijiman88 Жыл бұрын
I'm sorry to hear that. When we install this type of system we do a full commisioning that involves running the ac and heating for over an hour. We set the sub cooling, airflow limits for heat and cool, check static pressures, set humidty percentages, gas pressure setting, and make sure the software in the system is up to date. This ensures the system will opertate and perform at its best. I would check with your installer to make sure all of this was done.

I would no purchase a Carrier unit. These units break down often and the cost for replacement parts are very expensive.
@fijiman88
@fijiman88 Жыл бұрын
We have not found that to be true. When istalled properly they work great and are very reliable. When installing a very high efficiency system like this we always run new control wiring, ensure ductwork is sized properly or replace it with new, and do a full system commisioning to ensure proper operation. The only issues we have with these units is due to high or low voltage to the units always due to solar panels or utility companies not supplying the correct voltage to the house. Those voltage issues are usually easily resolved.

This unit is great at dehumidifying. There are settings for dehumidifying as well as the condenser having 75 speeds. Because of the 75 speeds it will typically run at lower speeds for longer run times thus taking more humidity out the air for more even and overall comfort in your house.
