I’m a crazy fan of the anger 736. It’s about the same size as the regular 30 want that Apple gives you, but it has 100 W of power which will allow you to fast charger MacBook Air, as well as plug other things in. It’s also really useful for 14 inch MacBook Pro owners, because it fast charges those as long as you don’t plug in other things, and can still charge them even if you do plug in other things.

I just use blackblaze to backup as it backs up periodically and if I wanted I could have it back up all the time. Definitely worth the money if you don't want to hold an external drive for your backups and then remember to do them

Thank you for the video, very useful as always! By the way, everybody talks about the "dumbest design" of the charging port of the Magic Mouse but, just to be fair, the battery life is pretty good and let you work for "a month or more between charges". Will longer battery life be achieved if use is prevented while charging? Any way at all, if you need a full charge it takes just 5 minutes.

Great video! You know what I'd like to know is the battery cycles on the M1 Air you've had for quite a while now! I've had mine for almost a year now, primarily a plugged in desktop machine, and I just broke 100 battery cycles!

The Anker Dongle you suggest in the video is not compatible with the new MacBook Air M2, does anyone else have the same problem? I recently read on Amazon some reports of users complaining about the same issue. anker 7-1 hub has sdxc port built into it. amazon pricing is between €40-50 and it works flawlessly on ipad, mac and dex

Great recommendation but it’s not hard case friendly. I cannot use it unless I take my bottom case off. You’d be better off getting something with one port and an extension cable like he recommended rather than the 2 for 1 usb c adapter

Ive always thought what is better: 1.- Laptop to usb c screen with a hub on it (they are pretty expensive) 2.- Laptop to usb c dock to cheaper screen without a built in hub.

I have low vision, I use a 2014 MacBook Air and use an external display. As I don’t need OLED or high refresh rate due to my vision, I went with an Insignia (Best Buy in house brand) 24 inch FireTV. It, and an HDMI cable, were $108 tax included. My setup is the MacBook, a stand, MiniDisplayPort to HDMI adapter, HDMI cable, wireless mouse, large print keyboard, and USB A hub. To protect the MacBook, I have a case on it, and stickers to show my style on the case not the laptop itself. This laptop was bought used in 2017, and saved me in college due to having a bad experience with a Dell. When I upgrade soon, maybe an M2 MacBook will be in order, with a hub of course. Though I’ll keep my existing setup too.

I would never buy the magic mouse though. It's the most unergonomical mouse I've ever used. Way too low profile and rolls badly on the table.

Regarding the mouse I couldn't disagree more: do not buy the Apple mouse. For the same price you can get a Logitech MX Master 3 (not the 3s) but it's more ergonomic, flexible and more precise. And you can charge it while using with USB-C. I'd recommend Apple's mouse only if you are a left-handed chap. If you are right-handed, use something from the market outside Apple.

I get where you're coming from, but I personally bought the Apple mouse for my M2 because I just like the aesthetic of it, and most other mouses look like gaming mouses. I do prefer the Apple mouse for my laptop due to its elegance basically; and to stay within Apple products for further aesthetic purposes

Get whatever bag you want, but if someone decides it looks expensive enough to take it and run off, all the locks in the world won’t stop them from cutting the bag open, so I still think a more unassuming bag would offer more “security.”

@@BasedHyperborean pacsafe usually has anti slash webbing as well as steel wires in the straps, but I get what you’re going for. If they really want it they’ll get it. However theses bags turn a quick slash & grab into 5 minutes of trying to cut through steel wires.

Hi Gary, I’ve been watching your videos and they are fabulous. I am finally switching to a MacBook and I am either interested in Air M1 with 16gb memory and higher SSD or Air M2. I do light video editing with videos filmed on my iPhone. I believe the Air M1 will handle considering you tested it with major editing. Should I wait for the Air M2 or would the M1 be good enough for me?

The Apple Magic Mouse is great for all the things he says. Other than the embarrassing charging however, I really feel compelled to call out that it is NOT AT ALL ergo friendly. If you have large hands (for reference, I'm 6'2") you always have a a curve in your hand like you're holding a baseball. It's horribly uncomfortable. But every time I try to switch to something more ergo friendly, I really miss the gestures and functionality of Apple's mouse. Sigh...

I hate the magic mouse. It's too glossy, how can you use gesture controls when it is so glossy it grips your finger tips so trying to do gestures actually just moves the mouse around. Other than that its ok. I love my MX master 3

I recommend you to buy the samsung t7 it’s way faster and it’s so much more handy than the t5 so i would say give it a try you’ll see that it’s way faster and if you have big loads it wil be better

It's been 1 hour without XQC's content, i don't think i'll make it to the next upload. I started yelling dud at my nurse for telling me to go back to my bed. My thoughts of booba whenever i see a woman have become outbursts. The world around me has began to resemble GTA RP, I hear the kraken calling my name, who knows how many I may sacrifice. The sound of thunder resembles Mr. Cow's amazing farts but they are never slammed. I don't know how long i can last without XQC's content, life has truly become a living hell.

Could not find a OWC Thunderbolt 4 dock. The Thunderbolt 4 dock I use with my M1 MacBook Air is the CalDigit TS4 Thunderbolt 4 Dock. Host/Thunderbolt port on the back which is great. Hate docks with the Host port on the front as a cable is always in it. Does not leave a port for devices to be swapped in, and out. Then since the MacBook Air does not have built-in Ethernet port, and I always plug my Ethernet devices in hardwire if I can. Reliability, reliability, reliability. This from the "Father of Ethernet" PHD Robert Metcalfe (inside joke).

So I’m in a bit of a pickle. I have a 2020 12.9 iPad Pro and I’ve been using it more and more than my early 2015 MacBook Pro (iPad has 256 gigs compared to my MacBook which has 128, crazy right). Don’t know if I should just get an M2 MacBook Air or just get a magic keyboard for my iPad. Welp

maybe it's just me but I actually hate the magic mouse... for the money there are a million other mice that perform better (as in they have more features/ better design for CHARGING) and are more comfortable.

I am not buying your entusiasm for the M2 MacBook Air. One pretty important thing you mentioned regarding the M1 MacBook Air vs the M1 MacBook Pro was the wedged design which made it more comfortable to type on as It does not play on your wrists. As far as I can see, the M2 MacBook Air now gives you the same problem as a MacBook Pro form factor. I am sticking with my M1 MacBook Air until they bring the wedge form factor back again. I hate using my M1 MacBook Pro - as I hate typing on it.

i tried the magic mouse, it's been three years, and it just needs a big ol' redesign. it cramps my hand, i cant use right click and left click at the same time, and yes, as you said, the charging is absolutely idiotic and inconvenient...just get a cheap ergonomic mouse off amazon please people im begging you
