Same for me i prefer the XS over Elixir. Sound better, feel more naked and last longer. Ive tried them all and these are my go to strings now

Nice!! I keep going back and forth. One thing is for sure though, they are AT LEAST as good as the Elixir’s.

I have tried a lot of different string but XS have been the best longest lasting string I’ve tried. I play 4 to 9 hrs a day and I get 2 months before I change strings where others every 3 weeks. Give XS a try.

Awesome video. The acoustic sounded good with either set. I think the player is key😁. I like D'Addario. My buddy swears by elixirs. I just enjoy the music. Thanks Pat

As it should be my brother! Both are great sets! I guess it comes down to the feel and the mid/low frequencies for me. Can’t go wrong either way

I will have to give these a try! I use the Elixir Polyweb custom lights because my Taylor 114e plays brightly. They sound like the woody tone from the D'addario EJ16s. In general I am an 80/20 bronze fan so I am curious about the XS's. Great Vid!

Glad you enjoyed it ! I think you'll like the XS as well! Elixirs are pretty good ngl but these seem to be a bit warmer and fuller sounding. better?, maybe... definitely different and just as good! Thanks for watching and commenting!

I received a free set of D’Addario’s that are coming with the new Taylors. I changed my Elixir’s out. And I don’t like them. My Taylor 414ce R just doesn’t sound the same. After two weeks of trying to love them, I don’t. , I ordered the old Elixirs. I’m cutting off almost brand news strings. But I want my Taylor to sound like it used to.

I wonder which one you are referring to… if it’s the Aminor chord progression played with a pick it’s just a chord progression I’ve been playing around with for a while. Nothing really just a string of a few good sounding chords. If it’s the part towards the end where I fingerpick then that’s a variation on When the Day is Done by Nick Drake just with no capo 😁.

It's the one where there's a loud big up stroke and you do a couple of chords further up the neck, if that helps. It's probably the A minor progression as you say 😊

Yes! I do mention that in the video… they are definitely not for everybody but if you are comparing them to Elixirs then it’s understood you like silky strings that last forever 🤘🏻

Primeiro as melhores guitarras são as Martin em segundo as melhores cordas sao elixir e Martin sp. As d'addario xs duram muito mas o som é horrível 2:50 2:53

Who died and made you king of acoustic guitars? The fact that you like Martin does not mean they are the best… in fact, many people don’t like them at all. Elixir strings are great but Martin SPs are crap. Martin never got it right when it came to strings, even the Cleartone ones were awful.

I'm 100% sure. For the longest time they used the Light/Medium set, like this one here www.amazon.com/Elixir-Strings-Phosphor-Acoustic-012-056/dp/B000A6CXUO?th=1 (unless they changed that in the recent years before moving on to D'Addario)
