Omega has had a stranglehold on the moon watch market... until Bulova released the Lunar Pilot a few years back and in 2023 they released the new, smaller 43mm variant that is true to the original size! How does this recreation of the "other moon watch" compare to the original 45mm release? Let's find out!

That was a great review, can’t believe I’ve never seen one of your videos 😮 I have this newer lunar pilot with the black dial. Just shy of having a 7 1/2 inch wrist it fits perfectly and after a while I honestly felt like I was looking at 42mm watch. I am always swapping the bracelet out with a black leather strap and a black nato.

After 30 seconds the tenth second hand seems to stop and moves on counting internally? Thanks for the interesting information with the ghost position of the crown. I think the movement is too large for a smaller case. Cheers, Frank

Now in my second month with my Lunar Pilot. Accuracy is +/- 0 seconds ! I have tried both a NATO strap and the included leather band, but always go back to the stainless band. Dial hand alignment is perfect out of the box. Purchased because of the stated accuracy and I have been extremely happy.

Sorry, but I think I prefer the original 45mm variety. I don't care for the polished case or polished center link on the 43 - the original bead blasted case and all bruised finish on the 45 give the watch a much more professional and tool watch flavor. Thanks for the review.

What would make this watch much better is to take the ghost position for the now removed date function and instead make it a quick hour hand, setting function. With my afore mentioned +4 sec. per yr. accuracy, now no need to reset the watch at every Daylight Savings Day.

Would be great if Bulova did a Mechanical movement for this watch, true to original. Otherwise this is a nice watch for sure.

I have the 45mm .. the size is big but bought it when the prices went down to $250 back in 2018. A steel at that price. Was pleased that a smaller version came out but the lug to lug is still too long and should have been sub 50. You have to question if this is a ploy by Bulova to get more people interested in the watch and buy it. They have had 5 years to get the watch dimensions correct and they have failed. I wouldn't be surprised if there is a smaller 43.5 version waiting in the wings to be launched when the time is right. Buying this watch is just not practical and I would rather wait for a smaller lug to lug version which is bead blasted ...

I got the O.G. 45mm and I prefer it because I flat, broad ans rectangular wrists. It was heavily discounted to $554CAD when it was about $300 more just 30 days ago. The other thing I prefer about the O.G. is that it doesn't have the lame ghost date like the 43mm. The O.G. 45mm has a date window while the 43mm has the date complication but no window and, to me, that's lame.

Sorry, I've owned two of these and the 3 o'clock sub dial is 1/20th of a second, not 1/10th. 20 tick marks on the dial and the hand can and will stop at any of these 20 making it, wait for it... 1/20th of a second.🤔

FWIW, I have the 45mm version with the fully polished case [even the bezel], no date and the vintage BULOVA logo. I personally prefer this look over the original three finish case [blasted, brushed and polished plus the date window and the newer logo font].
