Was only 11 attending this match, a night I'll never forget. I'm certain that I'll never witness an atmosphere like that again, the stadium was bouncing 45 minutes BEFORE kick off!! Unreal

Was there for Istanbul and on the Kop for Barcelona, but this was the greatest atmosphere I ever witnessed at a football match. Up the the mighty reds.

I was there for this, incredible atmosphere was like this a good 45 minutes before kick off. This was 2007, some people who went to both say 2005 was even slightly better...

i went for my first time last year, it definitley lived up to expectations, the atmosphere, the experience.BUT they said on ss news anfield was quiter than usual, so i went again and it went to another level(partly because i was nearer the kop

i know there is alot of pain for the hillsborough families, but they know full well that the reason the 96 died was not because of standing but because the police let too many people in. However the police will continue to blame the terraces to hide theior own guilt

The kop and anfield have never been the same since they took away the terracing, but come to think of it all english football grounds atmospheres atmosphere have suffered because of it.

Chelsea 2005 is considered one of the best atmospheres that Anfield has witnessed, and that was 11 years after the standing Kop was closed for good. On normal match days it might be quieter, but when's its needed it's still capable of producing some special nights.

Such a shame that with social media today people are more obsessed with recording this stuff for likes rather than living the moment. If the 2019 comeback against Barca happened in 2005 with no social media, the atmosphere would have been 100x better. The atmosphere was still amazing in 2019 when the comeback happened, but in this video, you can feel everyone putting their heart and soul into these chants.

was there that night, in the back off the kop. The noise was frightening, it was that hot under the kop that steam was rising off the crowd and falling back down from the roof. it was raining in the kop. i dont think i will ever hear an atmosphere again like i did that night.
