Yahweh is so great!! He gave us soo many things to enjoy. It amazes me why people buy a bag of potatoe chips or other junk food,; the name says it all, when they could have the food He made for us. Even the coconut has different varieties. Just amazes me how much thought Yahweh put into food for us. He really loves us!

you can actually eat the part of the tree that is at the very top where the young fronds and flowers come out toward the center. you can also eat the inside of the young flowers before they split open to bloom. you tell which part to eat because it is an off-white color and tender, with a texture like fresh asparagus. they taste wonderful fresh or you can make a stew and add it in there. it's a little sweet and people in southeast asia like to balance it in a savory soup. or just eat the young core and young flowers fresh. so once you cut them down, it's not a total waste and you get to eat a really special treat

No coconut tree will ever stay small as long as they are alive they'll continue to grow. I live miami and i have coconut trees and i always have them clean out where they are never blocking the sun from any plants.

All the literature I have read says the roots are not intrusive and at most can extend 2 meters or 6 ft. I am almost sure those are not dwarf coconuts as the base or bole is much larger than the trunk, whereas a dwarf tends to have no or almost no bole and a relatively thin trunk. The dwarfs will indeed get a bit tall but not nearly as much and they start bearing much earlier, sometimes the fruit will actually touch the ground. They are self pollinating unlike most talls or hybrids and they tend to have better quality and sweeter water:). They are less robust and not as resistant to drought, they also tend to lean less. At some point you need to make a choice I would much rather have a healthy coconut than 2 mangoes:). I suggest you look for green malayan dwarfs, or if you can get this exotic variety, the fiji dwarf one which is super compact and will never be too tall. The coconuts from Thailand are aromatic green dwarf or also called pandan coconut, they are very famous and indeed sweet and nutty tasting.

It’s not the variety they plant the coconut trees in huge mounds near the ocean and the. They let salt water in with the fresh water and it makes the coconuts taste that way Thailand has been doing that for years even in the Filipino islands they found that coconut trees that grew near a river mouth where salt and fresh water is combined the coconuts have a amazing flavor

Coconut palms very much prefer a sandy soil mix and just love growing in a coastal belt where both fresh water and salt water are accessible. Here in Goa, India, we get the annual monsoon rains from June to September and the Arabian Sea provides tremendous nutrients also via the humid air and ocean breezes that are absorbed by the palm fronds. It's a win win situation that produces deliciously succulent coconuts that I harvest every quarter, annually.

In my case it's not an issue to pluck coconuts as I know to climb them and climb 140 foot tall coconut trees too.. it's actually a really bad thing to cut such beautiful and magnificent trees.. would be much better of you could hv got them professionally moved to your preferred spot..

Not sure how much it would of cost to move them and even if I could climb them there are too many trees close by the coconuts would break when they came down. I agree is was a shame to cut them but I think I made the right decision

I had a question because I live here in Houston Texas and the soil‘s here may not have nutrients like in Florida in the ground. What would you say would be the best NPK for these coconut palm trees to receive the food they need to or fertilizer in order to produce coconuts?

I planted a whole bunch of coconuts. It’s weird because all the ones in full sun are dying or yellowish/struggling while all the ones in shade are growing insanely vigorously…DEFINITELY not what I expected since along the beach they grow in full all day sun. I wonder if it’s because I’m away from the shore line.

I have sixty tall coconut palms all around in my garden and I also have my modern septic system at the back. However, I built my house much later in 2004. Thus far, I have had no problems of roots affecting any of the structures. This is probably due to taller trees having deeper rooting.

Coconut trees are my favorite tree. I wish they grew in more states! Fun fact: In Thailand some locals use monkeys to run up the trees and pick the coconuts for them! Edit: maybe in the future put them up online for sale/to give away? I know A LOT of people would LOVE to get such big coconut trees for their own yards. They would probably haul it away and maybe even pay you for it.
