Interesting...This looks promising. Currently, all my supplies are on Evernote - which is free and will go across platforms for you. Phone, iPad, computer, etc. I am not anxious to change because it took a lot to get everything on there and it works great! So, I’m probably not going to switch unless the company comes up with a way to import the data directly into their app.

I saw this video a bit ago and immediately downloaded the app. I really like it. Iagree with you that it is a wonderful app. I wish they had more companies like crafters companion and older companies that have gone out of business. But it doesn’t take that long to download it. I’d forgotten the technique about going to the company’s website for the photos and I agree with you that they’re much better that way. Thank you for all of your videos. Even though I’ve been crafting for about 20 years, your videos help me stay motivated and I learn something new on a regular basis.

For android users (the 75% of the world's smart phone users), there is an app called collections. It's similar, not designed especially for paper crafters, but you can search your collection with tags, scan bar codes, store photos of products etc. .... otherwise we'll just have to wait for this one to get to the rest of us.

OMG...I think I've died and gone to heaven. I've spent HOURS entering my supplies on Evernote and I'm no where near being done. I love how I can add so much info, but the amount of time it takes to set up each item is crazy. I can't believe how FAST it is to just scan the barcode and have everything brought up about the item. It's great. I guess I'm starting over. Oh well, if it'll help me keep from buying the SAME stamp & die set THREE times in less than 4 months, the time will be worth it. TFS!!!

Check first before you switch from Evernote. I find the company made a lot of promises with the barcode thing but the companies supplying the barcodes didn’t really keep up to date with the app. So the barcode for me worked only like 10% of the time even after they came up with all the updates. You can manually input still though and it’s a lot of fun. Just don’t want to waste your hard work :)

My OCD brain is doing a happy dance!!! Your absolutely right Evernote was so useful in the beginning, now it’s horrible for the way a crafter would use it. I can’t tell you how many times I go in to use it and there’s pictures missing, It’s even lost quite a few of the the notes I entered. This app is right up my alley, super excited. It’s going to take me a long time to enter all my supplies because I always throw out the original wrapping. I love organizing just as much as crafting so I’ll enjoy it. Lisa, do you have any idea WHY data would be missing from the Evernote entries?!? Did it occur after an operating system update? Or an Evernote update? (I'm sorta with some of the people who commented below, in that I REALLY don't want to have to "pay as you go". With ANY thing! Sooo, I'm asking to determine if I "leave well enough alone" with the original 'puter & app settings, if I can get by with a "pay once" kind of app.) Thanks BUNCHES for your input!
@lisaerica

@@amkarei to be honest I’m not sure if it was an update or Evernote playing games to get people to start paying. This app is cheap enough in my opinion and they have put a lot of pictures and information and are adding new all the time. So when you want to add a supply you type the name in search and a lot of them just pop up and fill in all the info for you. Sorry I couldn’t be more help, it’s been over a year.

Have a few questions already, primarily because I REALLY like the concept here. If I am adding camera images, how big are the image files? Are they saved at full size, as highly detailed images? Are they stored directly to the phone, or on a cloud server? I just don’t want this to become a seriously fat app that takes up all my phone storage. I also don’t want to end up with a huge file storage on the cloud with an app that ends up charging more and more $$ for the amount of storage space I’m using. Have stamp and die companies partnered with this site? If so, which ones? I know can create the same categories on Evernote, and build my database. Can others who have used Evernote to organize migrate their data to the new app? This may sound critical, but it’s not at all! Good products are the ones that engage these questions. The bad products are the ones you don’t even bother with. 😉

Thanks for all the really good questions! Space is a concern for us as well. We are scaling all images, both in our barcode catalog and any photos you include manually, to a max of 600x600 pixels. We have many of the larger companies in our database, as well as some of the smaller/newer ones. We are continually adding new companies, as well as new releases. We have over 300 suppliers in the barcode catalog already, too many to list here. Since I am an over-organizer, another thing I do besides add to my Evernote (which I will definitely try importing to this app when they have that available), I stamp the entire stamp image (ink up the stamp on its actual acetate sheet without removing each little stamp image) and stamp on a 5.5 x 8 piece of cheap printer paper. I then label the corner with the manufacturer name and name of stamp and whether it has a coordinating die set. I then place these in 5.5 x 8 sheet protectors on a ring in manufacturer order so I have a physical copy I can browse if I'm unsure of what I want to make. I have so many now that I have little books of Nature, Holidays, Backgrounds, Words, and just Cards (no real category). Since I was a long time Stamps of Life subscriber, I also have one for that category as well. It does make for extra work, but I LOVE the fact that I can just flip through my sets or take the little books with me. Also, if an app fails for some reason, I have the actual organized books of my inventory. I know, seems redundant and crazy, but my little system works for the OCD in me! LOL. - Forgot to add, all my stamps and dies are organized in Jennifer McGuire style too, so I can pretty much cross reference and find anything in a matter of a minute or two even with my pretty ridiculously big inventory.

A couple of first impression comments: I couldn’t find any reference to the subscription fee until I downloaded the app; presently $1.99/month. Also this is a very young app and is designed for iPhones only. I’m going to test the app a bit but won’t fully commit until I can use it on my MacAir or iPad in landscape - according to the website blurb, this is in the works.

No Dream drops, Jewel drops or regular Nuvo crystal drops. I also couldn’t get it to read the barcodes on my Lawn Fawn paper pads. But I’ll keep trying. I also want to message MFT and ask them to consider joining because I have more of their stamps then any other. Thanks for the feedback! This is really helpful and will only improves the app for everyone. For the items that are not in the barcode catalog, you can add them manually and we will be reviewing the list of "misses" regularly so we can get them added and made available to everyone. We are also working with the suppliers to obtain their discontinued items as well - we've been collecting supplies for a long time! As for MFT, that would be great if you can reach out to them. I have spoken to Kim and she wants to wait until the app is more established. I have a TON of MFT products as well, so the more people that ask, the sooner we can add their products to our barcode catalog. Lastly, we are adding new functionality that will allow you to search for an item in our barcode catalog, without the barcode. Then everything will automatically populate for you.

Oh man, I just spent several hours today in another inventory app on just my Distress products, Dylusions sprays, and a handful of other Ranger products. I lost steam and stopped adding photos, and I am totally dreading trying to inventory my stamps, dies, stencils, or anything else. Even without the barcode this looks so much easier to use. Rushing off to find out when it comes out for Android right now!

Thank you for sharing this program! I love being able to view pictures of stamp sets and do electronic searches. It gives you a comprehensive inventory of your crafting stuff for insurance purposes too. Haven't tried it yet, but I think setting up some projects will be really cool. I agree data entry is a bit of an effort when (like me) you didn't save the bar codes from the original packaging. However, very few of the bar codes I did scan resulted in information being populated into the database. I do like the fact that you only have to type most info in once, since the program provides predictions that you can choose from when making manual entries. I do wish the "quantity on hand" defaulted to 1. But all in all, what can be better than a crafting inventory program created by fellow crafters who know what we use and need?

Thanks Kathy for the honest review. We have a new feature in the works: Find Item. This will allow you to search for items in our catalog so you can quickly add them without the barcode. Hoping to have this out in about a month. We also have the enhancement to default the qty to 1, so you should see that one soon too. We are working diligently adding more products to the app - it can only get better over time.

I just discovered this video and this app🤯. Omg I was looking for this for ages 😧 it was like looking for the holy grale 🙈 I started a while ago putting all my data in another inventory system, but it is so limited 😢 now I’m using the trial version of this app. For me it is still getting used to the different system, but I guess it all makes sense 😉 I do hope they keep upgrading the app (eg other languages, possibility for a price total of all your items (I don’t see that) , putting links to your projects or to eg. inspiration boards) I don’t understand why I never found it earlier searching in the App Store. Now it will be quite a work to move everything in this app 😅😂

Evernote is constantly adding updates, but the application isn't focused on the crafter niche market. The application is intended for business team sharing. So, yes, the updates they do aren't crafter centric. This new app sounds like it would be decent if you only have products they support. Evernote is far more freeform which is daunting to a lot of people, but it allows entering everything your own way. I keep track of a lot more than it appears this app would allow. But, it looks like it would be a great app for a beginner, intimidated by computers, or someone who is daunted by the extreme flexibility of Evernote where you really do need to design your own organization. I work with computer software as my day job.

Hi Rijacki. I had used Evernote myself, but found it lacking in some areas, which is why we decided to develop this app. I wanted something that would allow searching/filtering by colors as well as word tags, while making it quick and easy to add items to the app. While we don't have all products at the start, we are continually adding new companies, as well as new releases and discontinued items. We would definitely be interested in hearing how we can improve the app and understanding what additional items you would like to track that we currently are lacking. Feel free to email us at support@colormylife.com. I hope you may consider the app in the future.

I just installed the free 30 day trial version and am quite impressed how easy it is to add items. It`s so much quicker than using evernote or similar programs. Although the scanning function quite often doesn't`t work it is easy enough to search for product photos online and load them into the app. Thumbs up for intuitive usage ! I`d prefer putting in the product numbers that are printed on packages instead of the barcode. It would be great if there was a field where I could fill in how much I paid for each item. That would be convenient for the insurance company in case of a fire. Also I`d like to know if there is a list of companies that you can use the scanning function with. Here`s a few brands I`d like to include in the manufacturer list: stampin up, Elizabeth Craft designs, Tonic Studios, We r memory keepers, Marianne designs, Joy crafts, Penny Black, Memorybox, Poppystamps, Concord and 9th, Waffle flower crafts, Papertrey Ink, Simply made crafts, cats on appletrees, Lawn Fawn, paper smooches, Nellie Snellen, Cottage Cuts, Quickutz, Darice, Alexandra Renke, Charlie & Paulchen, Steckenpferdchen, Kulricke, Textures...

I hope it gets to Android soon! I love that this one has specific spots for manufacturer and storage location. It looks really promising. The barcode-based inventory app that I loved and used for years has lost the barcode look-up function. Evidently Amazon changed the partnership agreement the developer had, so the lookups don't work anymore. I have over 3300 items stored in that app. It's been great to check when I'm out shopping.

This would make this app the total bomb to be able to use it on a MacBook Air or on a iMac. Just sayin

Yes, this definitely looks like a tool we could all use in our craft rooms. I purchase S&Ds from many different stamp companies and as well, I'm currently re-organizing my out-of-control supplies. I too have purchased duplicates before, which is why I began an Inventory Chart. This app sounds like it would be very helpful, especially considering if one has a ton of supplies because it will save a ton of time when 'searching' for specific theme, color, type (ie sentiment or image), etc. I will have to wait for the Android version but I too am another one who would love to have it on my laptop as I have problems typing on cell phones and it tends to drive me nuts LOL. I can't imagine the work involved in updating the App all the time...can you image, especially since soooo many companies have monthly releases! Anyway, this App has definitely peaked my interest when the Android app is available. Thanks, Justine....you're a real 'doll'! Hugs from London, Ontario.

You're welcome. I believe it is available for Android now. I don't really use it anymore (no fault of the app itself, just companies not sending updated bar codes to them makes the car code feature not super helpful although I heard it's getting better). The potential is definitely there for this to be a great app, especially for those looking to coordinate paper and such

Hi Leslie, we are working with many of the suppliers to get updates on their new releases, as well as their discontinued items. As you can imagine there are a lot of companies, but we are trying to do this as quickly as possible. Please know that we believe this is a core feature of the app and will continue to expand our barcode catalog. I'd also like to mention that if you do manually add an item where the barcode was not found, we will be able to track which products are missing and individually add them to the app. This way the next person won't encounter the issue and we all make the app better for everyone.

Evernote does not suck and it IS routinely updated. I use it for crafting (both inventory and inspiration tagged by product type and techniques used for), work, and general household like recipes, party planning, etc. Evernote has worked on iphone, Android, Windows, and Macs from the very beginning, effortlessly syncing between devices so all your devices have accurate and updated info. Other apps like this have existed for awhile. My friend uses MyMarkers which helps you track anything colored, markers, pens, pencils, ink pads, etc. And folks on Splitcoast Stampers also like Airtable for they way they can create their own database designed around they way they think. I think this app has potential but I don't think its the BEST... especially when you are promoting it and its not even on all platforms yet. Approx half of cell users in the US are on Android, and Android is more prevalent in countries outside the US. If you are starting from scratch with any inventory program, you'll be entering all your products anyway regardless of program. While Evernote doesn't have a barcode datebase or color matching, it has benefits that apply to aspects of life other than crafting, so I find it more versatile. My BFF and I both use Evernote and love the file sharing features. I can first check my stash and if I don't have what I need, I check her inventory stash, then I can text her with exactly what I want to borrow. Also, the entry system in Evernote is equally fast, if not faster with their Web Clipper feature, with tagging and categorizing. And Evernote can read text in pictures and in your notes, so if you are looking for a Thank You sentiment, your query will show all stamp sets with that sentiment stamp. I would have felt much better about you promoting this if you didn't dog another app first, then declare this the best, when in fact some will prefer one vs the other for different reasons. Would have been better to just show it as an option and let folks decide for themselves.

Thanks for sharing your opinion. I personally have used Evernote as a student and I do like it for other things. I just think that an app that is made by a paper crafter or paper crafters has so much potential for things we want. I adore the colour feature and think it is just the coolest thing. Evernote has had so many issues for me with photos being deleted and entries not going in the right places that I gave up on it. Many have. It has also had significant data breaches recently. So I have found something that works for me that I truly think is an incredible idea. I apologize if that offended you in some way.
