Important thing to note on this difficulty - use companion to interrupt enemy level-ups. It was even more important in GoW2018, because they'd do it all the time in that game, but it's still relevant in GoWR. You can also throw your axe to interrupt, of course, but it's much easier to just press square, because your companion will (usually) prioritize a target that's in the level-up animation.

Another tip is you can use any other armor you want with this but use either the realm shift armor on waist or braces no need to have 2 to get the 1.75 seconds 1 second is just fine. Only downside is it only gives strength or defense

I just finished the game on Give me GoW (100% everything including the Labours) and i can tell you that the best armor overall is Sols chest and Nidavelir gloves/waist becouse you will obtain it early and also stun is your best friend in Give me GoW. Combine it with runes that enhance stun based on defence and rage based on vitality and you are good to go. The fashion is also there (i know you can use other sets as a skin once you upgrade one armor to the max). Only change the gloves/waist and stun runes against bosses that cannot be stunned. And i know there are better sets for setting some time records (how fast you can beat XYZ) but for 95% players who just want to have fun and beat the game this one is the set to use. Also 1 small tip, use hyperion grapple a lot and use the pummel that increases its dmg and stun and also put stun token on the skill. 1-2 grapples will stun most enemies.

Thanks for the tips, I tend to go for easier difficulties especially on first playthroughs because I want to enjoy the game without getting stuck too often but i may try this on new game plus one day

Another important point also on the use of companions is that they are indestructible, and therefore, can draw pressure away from you allowing you to focus on 1 or 2 opponents in a fight that involves 5 or more enemies.

I recommend not sleeping on the Niflheim training arena, you can use it to trivially level your weapon abilities which early on grants some decent xp to give an additional edge and opens up an xp sink so you've got ways to invest banked xp. The training area really helped me understand the limitations and applications of each of the different abilities. I'm now at around level 6 and using all these abilities competently has me hosing most encounters in a manner of seconds

How about pairing the Sol's chest with the Darkdale gauntlets and waist that give you increased rage gain when attacking enemies? It seems like that might be the best mix. Assuming you have the armor, I know not everyone does.

Just platinumed this game on give me no mercy and decided to use the full SOL armour set and the amount of times that spaulders ability saved me in fight where I had no health but my rage kept my alive, I then paired the amour with 3 of the Jotunheim enchantment and this makes your health bar pretty much the same size as your health bar mix that with the valour Spartan rage and you have A LOT of health I finished the platinum with 360 hp and my rage bar was just as big

Moxsy try the poison build, I’m using it on give me god of war and it melts enemy’s coz the poison lowers the levels of the enemy’s even bosses.

NG+ is where it’s at for this game and the last one. The combat isn’t as fun when it’s a uphill battle combined with a lot enemy encounters and combinations feeling strenuous to get through.

I just gotta say thank God I came across this vid I would've never used this armor otherwise this with the amulet that gives you more rage bar. Using this chest with the perma/immolation gain brace with the realm shift waist. I can litteraly take a few more hits after my health is gone

God of war builds would be lovely

The chest armor I use is the berserker one plus the strength increase relic. Then I use the darkdale arms and waist for the increased rage generation. The damage after using the relic is basically like zeus armor. I use valor because if you time it right, you can get a lot of healing while negating all non-animation-based attacks.

This is all and good but what about for the Atreus sections? I use save wizard and have max stats except health and will do a new game plus on give me god of war and have the bear outfit and Zeus and ares armour eg but what about as Atreus? How do you beat those sections on GMGOW as Atreus when it’s hard enough as kratos?

The only hard parts in New Game Plus Give Me God of War mode are Atreus' combat parts. I have him fully upgraded but one hit from a basic enemy takes 7/8 of my health. I'm half way through the game and every Atreus section makes me think of giving up. This may only be a problem because it's New Game Plus, idk. hellllpppp

I agree with you but…allow me and advice for GMGOW: do not sell your starting gear (armor of survival, blades and axe handle,etc.). Instead, go to the brothers and see their stats at level 7 and above…

I like hard games, but for your character to do basically no damage and enemies tanking hit is just trash. Even No Mercy feels a bit cheap as shit sometime.
