Hi Brian, fantastic work! Excited about the app and the update. As a TV and Documentary film editor, I have been tinkering with subtitles for a long time and managed to automate some of the steps. This automates almost all of this. For documentary work, I'd like subtitles translated into multiple languages to satisfy film festival requirements.

Brian I just downloaded your app today, and honestly didn't expect much. I am truly blown away - the medium language model is stunning, and managed to translate videos literally 99% perfectly in both English, Danish and Spanish so far. Truly amazing work, and thank you so much for this! Truly a gamechanger!

As much as I love FCP more than Premeire there are a few QOL improvements they really need to fix one being their lack of transcription, and the other library management. This is a good workaround and happy it exists.

Thanks for the update. Especially the german language transcription is much improved with the new whisper feature. It's sometimes mind-blowingly good, for example when german text is mixed with technical terms which are typically in english. Previously I used captionator only for short trailers because it needed a lot of manual rework, now I can use it for complete videos and the manual rework is minimal!

hey, I just got the app but theres an issue that the titles are not in sync and they are just extended through the whole clip. there is no space between each spoken word. how can I fix it ?

UPDATE: FIXED IT...I had to go inside the INDEX box, and click on the ROLES checkbox. anyone know why the Subtitles NOT the Titles don't appear on your main timeline when you copy/paste them from their source. I'm only showing the Captions when I copy/paste. Again I'm not sure if I'm missing a checkbox or something. FYI: when I paste both Captions and Subtitles I do see the Subtibles on the timeline, but they show "grayed out" Note: they only appear on the created Project timeline Captionator created, but they don't carry over to my video Timeline.

Mine now has issues with adding spaces before punctuations. It also breaks up certain works with spaces, making it unusable. Any ideas?

Hey! Nice update. Been around since the first release. I was so pumped to see the text editor added but in my experience it's quite buggy and makes Captionator crash very often. Maybe its not meant to correct words it transcribed wrong and that still needs to be done manually one title at a time in FCP, but man it's so frustrating at the moment. Also, the changes I make to the titles doesn't seem to affect captions and viceversa.

When I fix a word that is spelled wrong in the subtitle, its not updating on the timeline and its very confusing to know which ones I have fixed. Love Captionator. This was not happening on the first version. Please fix it

Quick question and it's probably a Final Cut setting but when you copy the generated text from its project onto the video project yours sits nicely on top of the footage where you left the playhead. For me when I do this it jumps in front of my footage onto the magnetic timeline, any ideas how I get around this? Cheers!

Why do you show so many styles when you pick the captions. But when i bought this program, i only show 4 style? is there a way for me to get more styles? because i wanted the ones that pop up to the screen and I dont have it :(

Brian I really need some help man, I've followed the directions perfectly but I get an error every single time, paid for this app and can't use it once.

I'm having trouble with the lengths of the titles not matching. I think it relates to what you mentioned about the bug in FCP not matching the words to the dialogue, but I'm seeing more than that. the length of the text box is way too long. Idk how else to explain. for example, one text box came out 1.17 seconds long. I had to cut it down .12 seconds to fit the captions with its dialogue. Maybe there is a setting I'm missing that can fix this bug?

hi Brian - how do you eradicate the gaps between apostrophes, full stops and the the like - its takes me more time to fix the spaces of the things than actually edit the footage. is there ability to remove these from the export

I'm a beginner and have some issues with it. Words with apostrophes are separated, e.g "you" + " 'll " instead of you'll. Also, dots and commas are generated as separated titles. Is it something that can be adjusted in the settings?

Is possible to use the same overlay you used in the tutorial so the captions fit in the screen?

Hi, I've tested with Italian language, it don't work or better it try but you have to change 90%. Any tips?

When i hit export and choose captionator in fcpx a pop up screen displays saying "Preparing media for sharing". This loads for a while until i force quit FCPX. Am i missing something?

I think there may be a bug where clicking Edit in Captionator makes the app crash...

Hi, Thanks in Loads for updating about the latest update and added features, I wanted transliteration means what I speak in Hindi/ Urdu, those words should be shown in English or Hinglish fonts (not translated but Transliteration) NOT in Devnagri font (hindi) or Arabic font (Urdu) but in English font. Is it accurate enough if Siri is used instead of Whisper AI? Please guide

Howzit man, Im having issues with the Captionator app. I can do everything right up until the moment where I import the captions that I just generated BACK into FCP. It says "DTD validation failed. (The data couldn't be read because it isn't in the correct format.)" I have tried running it back to an older version of Captionator as you say on your website FAQ, but it still doesn't work! I'm currently on a Mac Air M1, 2020 with 8gb of ram running the Ventura 13.5.1. Is there anything else I can try do? Please help me with this! :(
