You definitely went to the area with the best Belgian waffles and some of the best foods generally in Belgium. That whole area smells of deliciousness. Seeing the peeing mannequin and my favorite chocolate shop just across from where you had that waffle, David. One of the best vacation memories just came back right now. You are living brother with all these adventures.

These are the kind of waffles we, Belgians, sell to tourists. There's a huge amount of upselling involved here. They make a lot of profit on the toppings. It's not how most Belgians eat their waffles. For me the only real waffle is a Brussels style waffle, very light with a hint of beer (there's beer in the batter), and a bit of sugar on top. Some Belgians will add cream as well, but no more than that. Chocolate and fruit is inauthentic and for tourists only. But I'm glad you enjoyed it.

@@banxxystylezz4783 in fact, we have the best beers (and this is easily verifiable). our know-how, our tradition, our products and quite simply our relationship with beer means that we have one of the largest varieties of beers and tastes. we excel in barrel aging, craft beers, fruity beers, etc. and most importantly, all our beers have a unique taste.

Yes they do ! I mean in my humble beerlover opinion! France doesn’t hardly import German beer but mostly Belgian beer! Tells alot😊 especially the trappist beers are so good! You guys have the best sausages, and cabbage stuff, i ll give you that. Its like the wine because German wine is never as good as French. Or the bread. Germany has very good local products though! But better then Belgium? Nope 😊 but thats my opinion of course. Lived in both countries so i had lots of time to enjoys both countries dishes and beer.

Hi David. Were you stuffed after eating all those waffles? The freshly made waffles look so good. We get the liege type of waffles here on the grocery shelves in Toronto and the regular waffles in the fridge. The liege type is sweet, eaten by itself with a cup of coffee or tea. I have no words to describe the penis treat or whatever that was.😂😂😂. It looked wicked. Hope you had your fill. 🇹🇹🇨🇦

Sorry but the first shop sound like Amateurs the difference is that liege waffels are a dough and actually havier. The Brussel waffles are batter and more like pancakes.

Indeed, Liège waffles are eaten plain, Brussels waffles are eaten with a coating of white powder sugar and in season strawberries are acceptable too. Everything else is for the tourists as you mentioned.
