We had the chance to test out the new Vortex Diamondback HD spotting scopes while on our scout trip to Wyoming. For the money you will not find a better budget spotting scope.

I installed this optic on a crossman 760 air rifle.I have now shot the riffle around 500 times during target/plinking practice, and the kzfaq.infoUgkxc4K63Fd5LglDMObu7-Bgapxp_ef0W8hE scope has done well.With this optic, I have neutralized around 30 pigeons that were invading one of my buildings.For my short range air rifle, I will continue to use this scope, but will be upgrading to a more powerful scope, when I buy a more powerful air rifle, in order to shoot at longer distance.For the money I have spent, this scope has truly been a great buy.

What I don't understand is, why don't some reviews show the images through the scope, which images are exactly what everybody wants to see? If no images through the scope are shown, what sense does the review make? 🤷‍♂️

You're extremely limited by the camera.

I agree and was thinking the same thing. And if the camera doesn’t show an exact representation then the person reviewing should note that in the review. Any reasonable person would understand this. I sit here wasting my time thinking I’m going to see an image and all I see is 2 people talking about how great it is. Not to mention the fact that they’re probably doing a paid promotion.

Redundant review. A video showing you guys looking throug the scope, but no recording of what you actually see in the scope. There are camera adapters for that model.

Very new to scopes. Would a 65 be sufficient for spotting paper hits at 300 yards with a 6.5 CM or is 85 worth the upgrade?

For target shooting the 65 should be plenty good enough. It’s the one I would choose, I am very happy with it.

Just because I like a smaller more compact spotting scope. The field of view doesn’t bother me much, it’s why I carry 10x42 binos and not 10x50s.

The Cabela's Intensity HD spotting scope is clearer than this and does not have as much color separation... The Vortex throws off violet hues bad !!! I just drove 300 miles to buy a spotter - Ended up driving home empty-handed...... The Bushnell trophy Xtreme was comparable.

What's the farthest you can use on both spotting scopes...is it normal to see heat waves when using a spotting scope...

When we was testing them we never ranged to see how far. I have always noticed heat waves when looking out across far distances.

Yeah it’s for sure the lighter and more compact of the two. If I was to only have one it would be the 65.

I got the 65 seems good no problem seeing holes at 500yds in crapping low light

Raymond Rivera I would take the biggest Objective lense I could get, at least 80 or 85. Gathers more light. If you are hunting in steep country in the fall, there is rarely full sun coverage. Gathering more light with a bigger objective lense is a huge benefit when glassing shade in deep canyons, and in my opinion, the extra weight is worth the extra light gathering.

It’s not the “top tier” glass but for the money they are second to none. My old leupold smokes it but it also cost 1k more lol.

@@UnGuidedOutdoors yeah I was expecting that, I typed “ budget spotting scope” in to the search bar. I’m going on my 2nd hunt ever this year and I’d like to use this optic for that and also 400 to 500 yards at the range.

A substantial increase & they're not that good.... The Razor sure,,,, but anything under $600 - might as well buy the Cabela's or Bushnell.... The Leopold under $600 we're worse . . . . Color separation & hazy outer edge were very apparent
