Yes I'd of taken a polished finish myself over it as the coating will definitely look tatty once it starts getting used but the Bushtool range of this model is only available with the Black traction coating but i can live with it ,I suppose once it's too worn I can always put a polished surface on it myself ,Thanks for your comment Happy new year to you .

The Bushcraft Store UK , Its one of their own line up . I can stand by the quality of the knives they make as I've used my TBS Boar I got off them for nearly 10 years and it's still in great condition.
