Thank you so much for showing how to compress the plate and pins with a nut. I spent about an hour following 3 other videos that just say to use needle nose pliers to compress the plate. Finally saw your vid and had the damn chain connected in a minute. Thank you!

Front sporcket is usually the first to wear out so that one should be inspected frequently and especially when swapping the chain 😊 Thanks! It was cool to see a snapping link lock on one of these rivet style chains. Think it works as good as the ones you need to press in with the tool?

Hi, great video. I have 1200 km on my almost new motorcycle and apparently my chain is pulled out, it is irregularly tensioned. The small sprocket and rosette should be OK, so it would probably be wise to have the chain replaced with a good quality one like yours? I don't know if I damaged the chain with bad riding technique or if it's just defective. Greetings from the Czech Republic and I wish you many happy kilometers.
@WOODZMAN

The chain should have lasted longer. Most likely it was adjusted to tight.
@vladimirlojka3740
@vladimirlojka3740 9 ай бұрын
I don't know, it's a pity I didn't look at the chain tension when I bought the bike and started riding it. It was new, so I didn't care about it, but after about 600 kilometers I felt that it was looser and louder when riding. When I came back from the service inspection, it seemed to me that the chain was stretched quite a lot, so I loosened it, but it wasn't the same. The chain could be heard, and the sounds were not pleasant. On the second motorcycle, the chain clearance is also not constant throughout its length, and that's Japanese-made.@@WOODZMAN

@@WOODZMAN Oh I usually send it to clean at a wash shop , they will use the powered jet hose to remove the grease from the chains ...maybe that's why ..hmm .. thanks for your response and uploads, really appreciate it!

You shouldn’t power wash a chain at all. The water will go through the o-rings or x-rings and the chain won’t last long

... I have used master links from 1969 -1985 when I stopped riding. Motocross, Hare Scrambles, Enduros, GNCC, trail riding, etc. NEVER had an issue. Now I am getting back on the dirt with a 2021 CRF 300 Rally and I am surprised that my bike does not have one and that many are not using master links. I would take the chains off my race bikes, clean and soak them in lube between weekend races. All my race friends did the same and again, none of us EVER had an issue. . Jeff .

@WOODZMAN

If your chain is stretched out a lot then it’s would be a good idea replace the sprockets also. You don’t want to put a new chain on the old sprockets
