You can understand why we wanted you to hear this. Kasey is a legend is Australia, youngest ever woman to be inducted into the ARIA hall of fame ARIA = Australian Recording industry Association. Em's writing is on full display here, you cannot do something like this if it's not well writen, and the way she keeps a similar cadence while singing it is *chefs kiss*. Her dad was the one on slide guitar as well.

Thanks for your comment, I had wondered if it was Bill on the slide guitar! As a teenager I would Always hassle him for the same song every time I was Lucky enough to be present for a sing along/"jam" session with him being the main performer. I am now in my late 60's and have enjoyed his career and then to the extension of the Deadringer band, that was made up, basically, of his wife and their 2 children and the beginnings of Kasey's career! Great stuff!! Proud Aussie!

I am an Aussie metalhead and got dragged kicking and screaming to a Kasey gig way back in 2004... never have I headbanged more at a gig than at that performance at the Coogee RSL! And they pigeon hole her as Country... that gig was as far from Country as I could ever have imagined, yes there was some country-like elements but there was also blues, R n B, hard rock elements just as much. Kasey is a freak of a talent, so proud she is a skip.

@@manna6618I used to be into rock and the rocky side of pop with a bit of the quirky side of pop but in the early 2000’s when I didn’t find much of the top 40 I liked anymore I went across to Australian country for a bit.....not kerneghan type country but live Becky cole (live she really rocked, records seemed a bit toned down) and a few others. It was about the time Jim Haynes put out his comedy albums with the likes of when Cheryl went feral and a few others like Luke o Shea with medicine wheel did a few funny ones that drew me into the rest of their work. The live music scene was still awesome back around then and really rocked and was properly live. I moved away from easy access to gigs and lost touch a bit and some artists I followed went a bit more country than rock so I lost touch with new music.

Kasey is Australia's Daughter. She's much loved and admired - even if you don't like country music. She's the youngest artist ever to be entered into the Australian Hall of Fame for her contribution to the music. She's an independent artist with a love of Eminem. I saw this song performed by her live at the Gippsland Country Festival in country Victoria 2022 and to say the video doesn’t do it justice, is an UNDERSTATEMENT!! It was absolutely mind blowing and the crowd was so taken back that you could hear a pin drop!! Kasey has been my idol since I was a child. Her voice and acouple of her songs have been quite controversial over the years people either absolutely love her or they absolutely hate her, there isn’t any middle ground. She is an incredible Aussie country artist and especially story teller. She is the idol that her fans should meet because she is just an incredibly humble, sweet, beautiful human being all the time. She is ALWAYS so humbled and grateful for the support of her loyal fans and ALWAYS surprised that people know ALL the lyrics to her song especially those from years ago. Just a genuinely amazing person!! I’m so happy for her for getting the recognition her talent for music deserves finally. She is the person that Aussie country singers like myself dream of being!! Em's writing is amazing and for any doubters, this surely hiighlights it. It is channels like yours that this version is getting so much more international react. There are so many Australian artists and bands that the rest of the world have never heard before, but are now slowly being recognized for their songs. Kasey is in a realm of her own, creating her own music; and on top of that, covering Top 20 songs from around the world. Kasey has faced her own trials and tribulations throughout her life and career, and the emotion of her performance resonates throughout the song.

Not bad for an Aussie country singer is it... by the way, it's her father on the Steel/Slide guitar... Kasey kills it. I first heard this on a reaction video and now I've watched it so many times. My favourite all-time Kasey song used to be "Rattlin Bones'' but now it's "Lose Yourself". From a family band called the "Dead Ringer Band" to this.... amazing... That’s how you do it or you just don’t touch someone else’s song! I’ve flipped out when I first heard her cover. I was constantly yelling at the screen “shut up! SHUT UP! You didn’t!” I swear, it was hilarious😂😂 This was pure art! PERFECTION! Her voice, the banjo, the band and her dedication…man, I had chills the whole time!

Couldn't agree more Cliff probably the best cover ever. I get chills everytime. I have seen dozens of channels watching this so hopefully she gets all the recognition she deserves.

A couple of years ago i bought few kasey chambers records on vinyl at different times. both came with hand written notes from her mum, and were signed. Quality people. My wifes gig, but i love her too now

Use any superlative you like. A totally re-imagined cover that totally works, I wonder how people who see this will react when they realize that Kasey was 46 yrs old at the time? And her dad on the slide was in his late 60's early 70's? Is it eligible for a "Song of the Year" Grammy?

I wonder if Eminem himself has heard this version… would love to see his reaction to Casey’s cover! Thanks so much for sharing this. I was a fan of Casey years ago, but this is another level of performance… my body didn’t know what to do, I had shivers and tears lol it literally blew my mind. 💛

YES! Finally! Ey Cliff, when i first heard this i was shocked. Lose yourself has always been a very emotional song for me and Kasey really showcases the emotion and poetry in the lyrics
