I have an idea for a compact cocking aid that can be integrated into the stock. Use a retractable string that is connected to a geared winch. Everytime, you pull the string, it will turn the winch(which uses a gear box for easier cocking) and once you're done cocking, just let go of the string and it will retract back into the stock. (You had a video demonstrating an idea for a high torque rubber powered motor and I think that mechanism would be perfect for retracting the string.) Joerg please reply if you think this is a good idea.
@Xenro666 жыл бұрын
What you're describing makes me think of a lawnmower pull start, but with a ratchet and a reduction gear for torque. Great idea, I think it would work well on this crossbow.
@4xdblack6 жыл бұрын
Personally I think what he needs is a lever operated winch.
@guyfarting99876 жыл бұрын
4xdblack A lever would take up too much space. If you try to shorten it, then you won't have enough leverage. The retractable system would be conceiled in the weapon. Edit: Remember Joerg not only wants a crossbow to be fast cocking. He also wants it to look good.

And Wi-Fi. It should be a Wi-Fi crossbow. And there needs to be an app, so you can control it from anywhere in the world. And an intergrated usb powerbank. Also there should be a heating system involved so your hands are always cozy temperatured. And maybe he could attach an espresso maker somewhere to the design. Then it would be really the perfect wi-fi usb hand heating remotely controllable espresso maker crossbow on the planet.

If you want to use electrical ratchets for stuff like this, you could integrate a some sort of pulley mechanism into the winch. You could easily half the force needed when using some sort of gearbox
@chri15056 жыл бұрын
Mit einer elektrischen Winde wäre es m.E. noch besser
@mrkiky6 жыл бұрын
Or he just needs more teeth on the wheel. If one impact from the ratchet is able to get past one tooth, then it wouldn't spin back.
@IndieMarkus6 жыл бұрын
Hmm, that's not really a suitable solution, since it would put too much stress on the teeth. High impact on smaller (and therefore thinner and less sturdy) teeth would wear them out too much in the long run. Using impulsive forces is not suitable for other reasons as well, since it would probably be unpleasant if the crossbow was rattling or vibrating instead of smoothly winding up. Another advantage of a pulley mechanism is that smaller, less powerful electrical motors could be used, since they would not have to be as strong as the ratchet.
@Pharmant414 жыл бұрын

M.f.G.Niko

Maybe something like the double-pistol grip on the Mossberg M-1100 P? Obviously it would still need a stock for aiming stability, but you'd get increased grip from having a decent sized handle that can be dragged back, snagging the string on both sides (say a double-hook setup). Maybe even internalize it, have it run on rails. Of course you'll need a snap-in mechanism when it's in the full-forward position to "lock" it in place and provide stability. Maybe released by a smaller trigger on the forward grip? Yes, I love weapons. The current build is extremely impressive, and these are just the requested hypotheses on improving an already great design.

Is this the future crossbow? If you take the inside of a battery operated drill apart you could most likely get it integrated into the stock, also only have it hold 3 bolts, and integrate the rope on the outside into the stock forearm, make the crank silent, skeletonize the stock, make it out of aluminium, and make the whole thing around 6.5 pounds. You've been challenged. Love your videos!! Oh maybe trick the whole thing out with realtree camo. You should team up with Excalibur crossbows and make in a micro version that shoots 350 fps.

Waaa this is a really amazing crossbow , why don't you team with a cross bow company to make one ? That way you won't have to deal with lawyer and you still make some money. Like to make him see please

But the company that makes it will likely want a patent or something so that it can't have competitors. That's my guess though, I'm not sure

The video should be titled "German extremist teaches terrorists how to make crossbows of mass destruction!" lol, just kidding. Awesome work Joerg!

Formidable Foe And he didn't even patent it so the terrorists can use it without getting sued :/
