Does anyone have a useful tip for newcomers on how to get on well in the game? I've only just started, I'm at about 2000 points but I'm just losing. And please don't say things like play more, collect more cards, that's not a tip, it's a given, thanks in advance.

Unfortunately in the beginning levels are extremely important. Just watch videos like this to get ideas. Also don't throw energy into defense if you're just going to lose the bar anyway. It's often a good strategy to just save the energy for a counter push after the opponent over commits to taking a bar.

Make efficient energy trades, try to get the opponent on your side of the field, and don’t over commit unless you know you’ll get the bar.

I've been playing almost 6 years, and watching various KZfaqrs play the game was the most helpful because I learned and emulated the play style and techniques of many top players. But there are some things that might not be obvious just from watching, and it might be necessary to explain. WDWarpBladeTV, Glanzern, and Reprisal Music all have done or currently do videos where they specifically explain techniques and strategies -- usually in the context of TvT.

I would recommend Fantasy, as they are good at buffing your cards (like Robin Tweek, giving a huge HP boost) Also use Sci Fi, as it controls the arena the most. This was a way i got to almost 4000 points
