Put a pool noodle around the rod in the middle of the cab. The rods will tick against the pole while driving and it gets annoying. You can also cut little slots in the pool noodle as well so they don't slide around.

I did have to make an amendment to the design for this very reason. I ended up using a pool noodle with slots cut in it for two reasons. 1. So they don't slide around 2. So they are cushioned so they don't make noise bouncing around on rough roads

Carrying them inside, makes the roof liner dirty, i have got some rust marks on the roof liner from the rods. It's also difficult to carry longer rods... I did this for a year and now moved over to the solution from GearRak. It's kinda expensive but build quality is solid. If I get lazy after fishing, I can just leave the rods there and the rods can be locked in place... Here's how it looks - kzfaq.info/get/bejne/na2FaLar1rG9nIU.htmlsi=onFfFW_2OUGqcAF0. There's a possibility that that it can still get stolen but not that easily.

I have a 2004 Highlander. I use 2 " velcro straps to secure the rod handles to the frames of my back side windows and use a 1" wooden rod for the front. I still get a bit of rattle, but that's ok. Do you have any problem with the rods sliding forward when braking?

@@andrewsavage1872 it is a pretty common name for spinning gear and it has nothing to do with making fun of people. It is referring to the fact that it is more used for finesse setups and the rods are usually lighter action. It is a more delicate way to fish.
