Alex takes a driving test and passes with ease. This has got to be the best driving I've ever seen from a learner driver.
A good demonstration of how to pass the driving test.

Quick tip for everyone! Remember the more nervous you are the harder and longer the test will feel. Also remember check mirrors at all times over exaggerate if you have to. If you think you’ve done a serious mistake don’t put it to mind and keep driving with confidence. As for everyone who’s got the test coming up good luck and may god be with you❤️

I agree on everything else, except the overexaggerated mirror checks. You should only check the RELEVANT mirrors, when either changing speed or direction, or when you feel it's necessary. Overchecking your mirrors not only takes your eyes off the road more often and for longer, but on the test, shows the examiner that you're trying to please the examiner more than anything.

I can’t believe I finally get to say my own “I just passed my driving test, anyways I’m saying it now”. yeah this was hard to understand at the start. I was always told especially on a really steep up hill go at least 15 or maybe even close to 20mph before changing gears cuz the lower gear helps and changing gears drops your speed by quite a bit. Also keep your clutch higher than normal when moving off from uphill otherwise the car is gonna roll backwards.

I just passed my driving test this morning with 3 minors, thanks for your videos. I'll just say during the test don't think you are in a test just think you are normally driving or giving a mock test to your instructor to ease your nerves (that's the most important thing). Once you have driven from any road just forget about it and focus in front (doesn't matter if you have made a mistake or not, just forget about it).

In some occasions he just casually puts one hand on the steering wheel and the other on the gear stick, that’s not the sort of habit and confidence a learner could have. Learners are tend to grab the steering wheel with both hands due to nervousness and tension. And he wasn’t seemed surprised when informed he’s the best driver so far on this channel. He’s definitely a lot more experienced than 16hrs of lessons, he might even already have a license in his home country but just needs to get a UK one

So if alex scared for few seconds forgot totaly everything it can happens only for short time and looks so werry scarry but it is okey as we know all peoples looks werry scary if they exited when they forgot everything because we want feel of trust to them,we want feel more safer.

UK drivers, I need to ask you something. I'm from the US and have been driving for years, but I've been watching these videos out of sheer enjoyment. Generally, there is a "proper" way to drive in order to pass the test, and then there is the way people drive after getting their license. In the US, for example, one should have both hands on the wheel, at the 9' and 3' positions. A good chunk of people only drive with one hand after passing; some rest the driving hand on their lap, or rest their elbow by the window. If they want to make a turn, many often press their palm into the wheel with one hand, as opposed to turning with both hands. During the test, when parallel parking, they are supposed to look over their shoulder to see the opposite side of the car. With a license, many often grab the back of the passenger seat to rotate themselves more in order to get a better angle. Do UK drivers generally change their style of driving after getting a license? In addition, I noticed that at *every* red light, drivers put the emergency brake on. It honestly just seems exhausting to do, especially if one lives in a large city. In the US, we just hold the brakes until the light turns green. Do some drivers switch to just holding the regular brakes soon after getting a license? Admittedly, I drive an automatic, so I may have a skewed perception.
@silvershines
@silvershines 12 күн бұрын
While i'm not from the UK and I'm on the other side of the world (AU driver). Our road rules are similar to the UK, except we don't do diabolical things like allowing cars to park backwards/opposite of the traffic flow. The hand positions taught here is also typically 9' and 3', both hands must be on the wheel during the test else it's a non-critical/minor fault (note: most states do not grade in that manner; afaik only in the state of Queensland - ie. 3rd most populous state grade things like that). The most populous state NSW tends to just grade through a big checklist of Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory and then tally the scores up at the end; there's even opportunity for students to gain bonus points if they verbally identify hazards and then show good responses to those hazards. Steering with hands inside the wheel or steering with one-hand is a big no-no on the test, and would be counted as a non-critical error. It's not advised to steer with hands inside the inner wheel as it'll cause injury and potentially hamper the effectiveness of the airbag if it deploys. Remember, an airbag only works if your head is falling onto it during its deflationary phase, having an object in-between could obstruct that process. In reality/practice, once people get their license no one is gonna care how you drive the car, so long as you don't cause incidents haha.... Also yeah, so long as blind spot checks are done, assessors/instructors won't care if you put one of your hands on the back of a passanger seat while reversing -- so long as you are in complete control of the vehicle. The most important thing during reversing is you must look back and continue to look back for the first few seconds. These days it's easy to reverse whilst entirely dependent on your rear camera screen and miss the blind-spot checks. The tech is supposed to be a driving aid, they tend to want you to go through the motions in the test. From what I've seen the only time handbrakes are used asides from parking is when we're driving on a significant incline/mountain and need to come to a complete stop. It is then we use hand brake alongside with regular brakes. As a matter of fact, hill-side starts and stops used to be on the driving test several years ago. But it has since been removed from the test as more and more cars now have automatic handbrakes. The funny thing over here is, it's easier to get a high-risk work license like forklift or a recreational pilot license than a driver's license (the costs are higher though). The hour requirements for a driver license is a bit insane (100h-120h) and it simply leads to people fudging their logbooks.

I'm guessing it's the same in every country. Majority of people don't put their hands at the 9 + 3 position. In fact why should they, it's uncomfortable, unless you're racing on a track, one hand is more than enough. Also having both hands on the wheel is one of the many pointless things learner's must do to ensure they pass. I don't know why people rotate their bodies to have a good look of the rear when you can clearly see everything in the rear view mirror. Majority of the people in the UK hate doing blind spot checks yet this is the most important part before moving off. There are multiple points in the car where your view can be blocked and you can miss a child, cyclist or motorbike. Only a small proportion of people apply the handbrake at lights. Usually they stay at the biting point and then move. In modern automatics it's even easier where the car will hold position without doing anything.

@@BWFAIZANSRD for the wheel here you are allowed to do anything basically as long as you maintain control im pretty sure You defo dont need to do 9 + 3 position here to pass

I´m German and got my license 14 years ago. I passed everything first try and have driven thousands and thousands of kilometers since then. I think I would fail every mock test though, especially in the UK. Your streets and traffic in general are just soooo confusing. Feel bad for all you learners out there :-D If you can make it in the UK, you can drive everywhere I guess.

Exactly. Also, these tests are overally restricted. People with driving licence won't remember every rule but they will still drive fine. I don't blame the driver who failed these moch tests just because of confusing roads and pressure from the test. The camera doesn't help either.

It’s strange to see the tram lines in the road and cars using the same area, we don’t have any around here.

My test examiner took me to a hill that was way steeper than that hill and I had to do a hill start which I did perfectly. He was evil as well as he took me to a steep downhill and told me to reverse around the corner which I again did not knowing that when I turned around the corner it was again a steep downhill street so was all acceleration up the hill and then switching to normal driving and then was all brake once around the corner which I did again. I did an emergency 🛑 that he told me to do then coming through a set of🚦a car was turning in front of me and even though I had right of way and was driving the 🚗 just pulled out from the opposite side right in front of me and I had to do a second emergency 🛑. The examiner tutted loudly and I thought well that's it I'm toasty, I've failed and we were about4minutes from the test centre. I then had to answer some highway code questions which is what we did when I took my test in the early to mid1980's&, then he told me I had passed. I literally almost vomited and I actually said to him if he was sure as I was in total shock. I cannot imagine not having a🚙as they are essential to everyday life and I love driving and actually finding it relaxing on the most part.

Question: When parking, if you notice that you are a little off when reversing, can you go forward and reverse back? Or does it have to be all in one motion

Question: I passed like a week ago and something I’m really struggling with is moving off quickly at busy roundabouts with small gaps. I set the car to go but it doesn’t move as quick as I need and I like creep forward instead of the pace I want - whyyyy 😫
