However, the author has been teasing that it might get translated into English on the day of the release that if the show does well there might be an English translation - and it did really well. There is a Spanish translation of the books though. @jeslycruz

The main leads, Harriet Herbig and Damian Hardung are fluent in English. Damian is fluent in 5 languages! He has a very high IQ. He graduated from a medical degree one year early, for instance. He also played professional football (soccer) for a period of time.

Your reactions are my favorite bc you are all of us yelling at the screen when James's dad had the nerve to say that to a teenage girl...and I wasn't really mad at James for not standing up to him, but why didn't his mom say anything?! And how we all fell hard for James when he started being sweet and honest to Ruby and literally saved her life!

29:42 just as a little fun fact, cause I'm a huge English monarchy nerd. Bridgerton is set in the Regency Era, King George and Queen Charlotte's reign, they are Queen Victoria's grandparents. Victorian era is the time for Victoria's reign. They're two different eras. I get why you associated it with Bridgerton, but the fashion in those two eras were completely different. And I honestly love that they chose Victorian theme cause they're so beautiful. Again, this is not a correction. I just wanted to mention it so you can look the difference between the clothe in Maxton and the clothe in Bridgerton. I personally prefer Victorian dress.

While we are already here talking about this, I think its also important to mention that the usage of such specific periodization terms like „regency era“, „Georgian era“ and „Victorian era“ is only appropriate within in a British based historical context (which of course includes the historical commonwealth territories where the British monarchy was also in charge), BUT THEY CANNOT BE USED as a universal term for historical events happened in the same time period but outside of British leading realm, with their own monarchies ruling And their own historical periodization terms Like China counting the reign periods of all their emperors „Dynasty “ with the specific emperors first name upfront (for example like the Qin-Dynasty (221-207 BC.), Han-Dynasty (206 v. Chr. -220 BC.), Jin-Dynasty (265-420), Sui-DynastY (581-618),Tang-DynastY (618-907)) And with Japan as well as North and South Korea have copied this idea still doing it with namsynox their current monarchs (and what Kim Jong-un is currently calls his dictatorship, implemented by his great grandfather Kim Hyong-jik.

In the books Graham Sutton is actually just about 23 or 24 now. But unfortunately the actor looks like he is in his early 30s which makes the relationship seem a lot more cringe. But in the books the age gap isn't that big and he just finished university. Lydia was about 15 when they first met. Now she's 18 or 19. But they know each other for almost 4 years now and they met when he was a teacher student.

@@dammma Hm? Why is age gap of 4 or 5 years weird? 🤔 A friend of mine also knows her boyfriend since she was 15/16 and he also was almost 20. So I don't get your point. There are even some people who have a age gap of 18 years or more! I would understand if you think that this is weird... But 5 years are nothing. Even between the age of 17 and 25 you don't even notice the difference. There are lots of people that look much younger than they are and others who look older. So when you fall in love with somebody you don't fall in the age... You fall in love with this person! And a age gap of 4 or 5 years really doesn't matter if you understand and like each other. It's about being there for each other and making each other happy. :)

@@AL_mary-angel_04mp039 what?? it's not about the age gap!! it's about the fact that she was a minor and he was an adult. your anecdote about your friend doesn't make it less weird, in fact, it doesn't change my stance and how people view it at all. an age gap of 18 years between 30 and 48 isn't weird, but 15 and 32 is, so just stop.

@@dammmaI completely get your point and I actually agree. But love sometimes has other plans. I had a friend in school, she fell in love with a guy several years above us. She was fourteen and he was eighteen. Everybody called him a child molester and she cried a lot. Her parents allowed the relationship because he was really nice and they agreed with the two of them that nothing would happen before it was okay. And the two loved each other so much they endured the time period. They married in their twenties and got two beautiful children and am still together. Their love story showed me how you can deal with the age issue with respect and love. (And of course Lydia’s father is not capable of that.)

They didn’t do the English dub themselves. They all speak English but at varying levels of fluency so I guess they chose something more consistent. Which is a shame because the English dub we got is almost offensively bad! 🥴
