Glad to see Americans feeling the heat of Football... hope it doesn't end with world cup hope they support their local clubs too

USA finally joining rest of the world to taste the enjoyment of watching the World's # 1 sport.

Some Americans find soccer boring just because they don't understand how a game can be so breathtaking while it can end as a tie without scoring. It's basically 90 minutes of pure adrenaline. Maybe a few "goals" (among thousands) in NBA or American football can be remembered, but there are so few in soccer that almost all of them are so special.

I am happy that the yanks are finally buying into the World Cup. The World Cup is something special and it isn't called the beautiful game for nothing. Moments like this will inspire the next generation and it wont be long before the US start producing world class players, and when that starts America will win the WC, but not in my life time though (from a 29yr old)!!

It's great seeing how much this sport has evolved in the US in the past five years. It MUST continue to grow. By that, I mean people should stop watching only when it's World Cup time and watch clubs play. I encourage all Americans to watch the MLS, support the young talent. We should also start sending more players to Europe for club soccer- Dempsey, Howard and Altidore came back looking great if you ask me. Let's take it to the quarters or semis next time.

My fellow Americans ... I am Brazilian and I am Atleticano (Clube Atlético Mineiro). Everyone knows that the favorite sports of you: American football, baseball, basketball and hockey. However, except for a few countries around the world, football is the number one sport. But I was surprised at the reaction of the American crowd at the last World Cup in Brazil. And I noticed that this crowd was not made up of just immigrants, but for Americans "genuine". Want you to know that in just a single edition of the World Cup, you cheered and cheered for the national team of his country, or in any sport, than any other edition of any sport that is in your nation. This is football ... the best and most exciting sport of all !!! Congratulations!

I was born in Seattle, grew up in tampa, enjoyed My teen years and most of My young adult years in Santiago, chile and currently live on easter island... That being said, i fell in love with the Game after the 94 world cup! So thrilled that the usa qualified for a world cup once again and Will support our team 1000% for the cup un Qatar! And also want to send a shout out to the Seattle Sounders and congratulate them for making it to the Concacaf champions league final! The 2014 World Cup was perfect for football in USA. Even though they didn't win, they made it out the Group of Death, and gave the Top countries a run for their money. In 2022 they will definitely be the Dark Horses. With Pulisic leading the country, and all the young talents reaching the elite level in Europe. They have the potential to make it their best World Cup yet. Super excited

I credit the younger generation (myself and others 18-35) for bringing football this far. Our passion for the game has changed the minds of many young and old (at least when it comes to the World Cup) who have never watched a football match in their lives. It's hard to deny the excitement of the game and when you see videos like this, it's hard to say you wouldn't want to be part of the crowd. Although we didn't do as well as I think we could have, our team is moving in the right direction, and support for U.S. International Football is here to stay. I see this movement going from support for every World Cup, to then every international game, to finally here at home in the MLS.

Its mostly luck for us people from Europe that Americans mostly dont really care about football/soccer. If they stopped sending their best athletes to Basketball and American Football i have no doubt they would give every big football nation (as in all that won a WC or more) a lot to fear or be afraid of. Hope it catches on over the big pond. i like competition.

Trust me, if USA put as much money and time into football as basketball, baseball, American football etc. we would have THE best national team and American players would be the best players in the world. I’m not even trying to be cocky or just being patriotic.We have some of the greatest athletic talents in the world in the USA. USAWNT is the best in the world of women’s football for the reason that it’s prioritised within American women’s sports, where men’s team is not. USA have the most Summer Olympic medals ever BY FAR and are #2 in Winter Olympic medals for a reason. The nations interest for soccer only comes around during the World Cup when USA qualifies though sadly. We could literally have a super team. It makes me sad. We are #10 on FIFA rankings, which is pretty good considering, but we could be better. So much better.

I never understand why people try to compare different sports. I´m glad to see football getting a grasp of the us soil, but there is no need to compare wich sport is the best. Football is great because it´s a rollercoaster of emotions, from pure joy, to surprise, to extreme sadness, to anwiousness... and i rekon, sometimes boredom; all packed in only ninety minutes. I guess that the thrill of being in the middle of the most practiced sport takes you to those feelings; comparing yourself to the rest of the world, and being at the ship towards glory or the bottom of the ocean is incredible. And the US fans are discovering that feeling. Congratulations for the past wc. Respect from Argentina.

They should have won the game against Belgium, freakin Wondo shanked his chance , twice, one with a chance to win it at the end of the game and then in extra time with a chance to tie it . So damn frustrating because everyone was vulnerable this World Cup, even Germany . The expectations are much higher now for the Usa national team, we aren't just showing up anymore to be someone's lapdog, it's time to start making a real run at a Cup and not just the Gold Cup .

It's been more than a year and I remember I refused to go to the beach in hawaii to watch the USA vs Ghana game. Was totally worth it.
