It's probably the most popular modification on any sportbike. The fender eliminator. Stock, these bikes come with an ugly rear fender where the license plate and turn signals mount. It's pretty much exclusively for legality purposes, but it's an eyesore for sure. Thankfully, we've got a lot of fender eliminator kits out there to take care of it, my favorite being the kits from TST Industries. They're high quality and super customizable. Don't you think the vibrations will destroy the plastic piece above the license plate? I did the same thing with my KTM and the plastic above the license plate was destroyed with scratches! Just a thought you should look into. The R6 looks stunning!

They make bolts to mount the license plate with led lights made into them the make a cleaner look and stay legal.

The license plate may scratch your plastic while you're out riding due to vibrations/movement. Maybe add a clear protective tape strip behind the plate edge?

I'm actually trying to buy an older R6 or a cbr600 at the moment so hopefully i can get some ideas from you on what to add on. Keep up the great work dude!

Put a thin rubber seal on the top side of the plate because it might slowly start scraping the plastic

One thing that you can do is to stick the license plate light in the the under-tail closeout focusing obviously to the plate, no drilling needed.

Good looking plate mount, and it's gonna look great with the black plate. I need to clean up my plate mount since I had to hack it up to add license plate lights for a state inspection.

I know the fenders are ugly and replacing them is ALWAYS better but I think Yamaha did a good job with the stock R6 fenders to use until you get the replacement they don't look near as bad as the R3 has

You should put a piece of rubber sticky back on the back of the plate to keep it from rubbing on your plastic undertail👌🏾

To be honest I like when the plate and blinkers are on the stock and long plate holder/fender. I even hope that they will place the rear light on that too, so when you want to race or hit the trackday you only need to remove the fender with a couple of bolts and you have a trackbike :P They should place the head lights in the mirrors too, or just like Yamaha did with the r6/r1 placing them under the bodywork/fairings. So if you look at it like that the long stock fender is kinda logical.

Can't you use longer bolts so the underside of the plate would stick out more? So the plate would be more straight down, if you know what I mean...

+Limezy They make extension brackets so you could do that if you want. I wanted it to be more sloped and sleek.

I had a plate like that on my gixxer from competitionwerkes , got pulled over, and had to go back to the regular style eliminator. Guess different states are better about it! Looks good though!

Hey man nice video, cut a piece of rubber tubing on one side and slip it over the top of the license plate where the plate touches the plastic underside. No scratches. "Awesome advice from me" Hehe !
