instead of mining the marble stairs. Bring a stone cutter, its a big time save seeing youll be able to just remove the blocks instantly.

Yes, I mention that at the end. But not everyone can or will choose to bring the two iron with them. Some people may find a mine before they find ancient armor, or ancient swords to mine the iron and they may want to get their portal safe before going out to look for it.

Easiest way is to either find an abandoned tower or clear one out of the Dvergr (this will be a hard fight, so be ready for it.) Once they are gone, you can move in and fix it up. Keep in mind the original timber floors in the towers are made of a material you can break, but not replace. It's relatively easy though to get enough black marble to replace these floors, though, and as long as you can replace one floor above you it will keep the tower dry until you can finish the construction. Put an anti Gjall ballista or two on top for a finisher, and boom! Instant nice small base that's easily large enough to use for farming shrooms, storing things, doing what crafting and smelting you like that you don't want or can't do at home, and it's a safe place for your portal.

With this logic, the real easiest way is to just kill every monster in the area and bring 2000 black marble and construct a full castle on top of a mountain.

Thank you. I think the best tip to keep your base from being destroyed is to get far away from your base when it's under attack. They are after you. The base is just in the way. Thanks for watching.

Huh, nice. After I finally got to the mistlands I found it to be such a huge difficulty increase that I gave up (for a while). I built my first portal out in the open near one of their camps, it has a 2 star dverger guy there so he takes most of the enemies out. I tried chopping and mining stuff but the noise attracts the enemies and I've yet to build a base of any kind. I'll try to follow along though and slowly get it done, lol.

i think i was over prepared for mistlands cuz i never experienced it as difficult sure challenging sometimes when u got seekers , soldier and a gjall behind u but nothing i couldnt manage i was so scared of mistlands i littarly made myself strong enough to handle it very well , hope ashlands will be a challenge for me instead :P

@@NinaOililyJust fired the game up again and I see now that I chose the first mistlands that I stumbled upon which was actually a bunch of small islands and turned out to be the wrong place, lol. Currently sailing around and looking for a larger mainland. Hopefully it's easier from here though.

@@brandontwohawks Search by ship. It's safer and I think they are easier to find because there is usually less mist along the coast. Good luck!

Mine under a giant rock and use the hoe to make terrain walls and use black marble to fill in the gaps and it will be really safe as the rock protects from gjalls and the terrain walls can’t be broken

Not everyone has iron on them when they stumble across one of these mines. Some will choose to go back to base and get some iron, then come back, others won't want to spend that much time travelling and will opt to mine the iron nearby. Others will feel it's too dangerous to mine nearby and will make the base by mining the blocks, placing a portal for return travel, then go back to their base. At the end of the video, I cover bringing iron and using a stonecutter to break the blocks.

@@ChuckHaney Bringing iron for the stone cutter is obviously the meta for this marble mining. Not doing it has zero advantages. Yeah I saw later on the video you actually cover it but imo it should've been the first thing to say ^_^

@@m4djoker890 You can only bring iron for a stonecutter if you know that you will need iron for a stonecutter. As I already said, some people will stumble upon a mine and want to build a base at that moment. Some of those will choose to go back to their base and get the iron, some will choose to farm it in the Mistlands, some will say "screw it" and use their pick. I've tried to cover all possibilities.

you dont have to mine black marble, you simply put a workbench down and destroy the marble with your hammer.
