In this video I show you the top flounder fishing rigs for live bait and artificial or soft plastics. In this tutorial, these top flounder rigs are the most effective and also I break them down while rigging them up. These are the top flounder fishing rigs but if you have any modifications or if you have your own opinion leave a comment!
Here are the Flounder Fishing Rigs Featured in this video
Jig with Berkley GULP! - for a jig I typically use a 3/8oz jighead to ensure the bait has contact with the bottom. When fishing a shallow flat I will use a 1/4oz jighead or even lighter
Fishfinder Rig - this is the most popular live bait fishing rig especially for finger mullet. This rig can also be used with live shrimp and other fresh cut baits or live baits.
Tandem Rig - the tandem rig is a popular rig used from piers, surf, wade fishing, and also drifting across a dropoff or area on a boat or kayak
Bucktail Rig - this is used primarily for deeper, nearshore wrecks and areas that are deeper in the ocean where the giants are. You can also just simply use a heavier jighead but a bucktail tipped with a Z-Man is typically the best.

Thanks for the video. Been driving down from Richmond to fish Rudee's inlet ever since seeing one of your video years. Gulp on a tandem rig. I might not catch anything big, but I catch something which is a lot better than not! Flounder's now one of my favorite things to fish for. Thanks Jeff!

2 questions please. (great video by the way). 1. If I make a loop like the one you show in the double rig, I want to put a bucktail on that loop, and a plain hook on the teaser end. The doubled up line won't go through the eye of the bucktail as a loop - suggestions? 2. When offshore over wrecks, concrete, sucken rubble, tanks etc, how do you work the rig for flounder? assume you don't drag the bottom like inshore? Techniques please? thanks again
