i just squinting at game for its use of a while loop in place of a for loop and lack of semi-colons. the curly braces betray this not being frenly fren python😔and the while loop is infinite sadge. kevin's being misguided

Im not a professional programmer, but I have played with loops. That loop scared me. And he could have avoided the 450 spin by making his initial turn before the loop started. Either way. He did do great for his first experience.

The part at 35:00 is more fun if you have a slightly messy desktop! It looks for certain words and you get a few variations on the energy collection minigame like mining diamonds for the word Minecraft! It's cool the amount of reactions and considerations there is in this game. So even if you've watched this video, it might be worth it to play anyway, there's different endings too (edit: apparently there aren't different endings, all the routes come back to the same place, but it's still worth experiencing yourself)

there isn't different endings. you can do different routes in the laifu bossfight, but when i played the game didn't have multiple endings, and there hasn't been many updates since then.

@@BobOrKlausit is intentional, when lumi asks for you to give her the memory file and then you move it somwhere else or delete it then she'll just go like "ÀÄÆÅĀÆÁŒÆ" and the game will crash. I'm pretty sure thats what happened here.

Outcore is extremely underrated, like. It is a free game with multiple hours of gameplay and decent quality. Really underrated game. You did a great job on the idle game, one thing is you could've put some commands outside the while loop. but i'm quite surprised you got around that, you did very great!

Coder here, seeing so many identical commands inside a while loop made me want to cry, it defeats the purpose of a while loop 😭

i felt that way at first but then he mentioned only being able to carry one coin at a time and i realized the loop was to walk around the circle, hitting all potential coin pickups and dropping the coin off at the end, and then returning to the beginning of the path to start the loop over. the game's probably not robust enough to have nested loops with a bunch of if/else conditions so what he's doing is probably the intended solution

I love all the references in the game. Booty’s boss fight has undertale and touhou references (First Flowey Encounter, Photoshop Flowey, and Mima from Touhou 2 which are the hat, and the 4 orb attack) and Laifu has one of Monika’s poses. I also love the idea of the game interacting with your computer. I haven’t tried it and I will try it!

This reminds me of a game from the 90's called Operation: Inner Space. It used your drive directory as a mission list, and you had to select files to 'disinfect'. It was a standard space shooter otherwise, from what I recall, but it was pretty cool as a kid imagining that I was fighting a war for my hard-drive.

I saw the first few minutes of this video and decided to try the game myself. It is really very funny and even weirder than the bit Kevin shows on here. When I was a teenager in the 90s there was a shareware game called Operation: Inner Space, which was a top-down free-roaming space shooter where you had to stop pirates that had invaded your computer from stealing all your files.

I’m happy to see this game being covered. I found ti while surching for fun free games and it was amazing. Reminds me of both oneshot and dlc with how it interacts with your files in a fun story way :3. It’s good to see people enjoying this kinda hidden gem

I love games like this, IMSCARED is another I just finished. It feels so cool discovering stuff "outside" the game and having it affect the game, but having the entire game on the desktop is wild

Can someone help me catch all the references in this game? I noticed at least the Flowey boss battle from Undertale, the Radiance boss battle from Hollow Knight, Monika's sprite from Doki Doki Literature club and the constant flashbacks from Danganronpa
