Hi my friends! So happy to be back. Thank you for your patience while I took a little refresher. I know I am going to get roasted for forgetting the theme song, I know its comin. Lol!! I don't know how I forgot. I was just excited to be back. Anywho, yay halloween season is here. Today's story has been highly requested and really just straight awful. I am not sure how you parents out there monitor your kids online, but I'm hoping you’re just trying your best out there.
Let me know who you want me to talk about next week! I love and appreciate you so much, and I hope to be seeing you very soon!!

A really incredible and VERY lucky for Payton, was the fact that the biker who rescued her went into a kind of "restricted area". He actually climbed over a chain that was marking an "off" territory and decided to bike there. Otherwise, Payton may have never been found. Kudos to this guy!

I feel like the fact she couldnt see clearly helped her survive and make it to where she was saved. Most people start to panic to the point of not being able to function or think when they see the severity of their wounds which ultimately stops them or slows them down. Kinda like when you break a toe in your shoe but until you look at it you dont fully know whether or not it's broken so you keep walking and then when you finally look at your broken toe all of a sudden its 10x worse to walk on than it was before

For those who would like to know, Payton is now a sophomore in college pursuing a degree in the medical field. She had PTSD after the attack and would sleep with her mother in fear of being alone. She says she doesn’t really remember much of the attack, thankfully, and has learned to accept her scars from the attack. She still has a hard time trusting friends and family and also still to this day sleeps with a pair of scissors just in case. She has said she’s working on putting everything behind her and getting back to living a normal life🙏🏼

I think "internet literacy" should be taught to kids in schools around age 10 where they can learn what fact checking is and what Photoshop is so that as they begin to live their lives online they'll be better prepared with critical thinking skills. Yesss! If anything....ANYTHING...put on proper parental blocks! I understand every family situation is different with some having parents work late or all day...or they're a stay at home parent and may need a break from the kiddos and give them time on the internet. BUT, if some kind of parental block was on...it could (would in my opinion) help with kids seeing videos and stories that they just aren't ready for! (Hope that makes sense).

If a parent falls into that category of having difficulty monitoring their kiddo they can also reach out to their support group, friends, family, their kids friends parents... Someone to help with the monitoring if you think it's necessary to do so. There's something to be said about trust and an open dialogue that goes a long way to keeping your kiddo safe. Like Peyton? She straight up asked her mom if it was real. Open dialogue. Listening. It's important.

My oldest is 9 and is honest about what he does and watches. Even if it's bad. Because I don't yell at him or punish for it. I sit with him and explain why it's not okay. He understands. Even if he disagrees, he usually listens. There have only been a handful of times where he did it again but we had another talk and I gave him the ultimatum of listening and doing what's right or getting in trouble. I let him make the choice to do the right thing. It gives him a sense of control over his life and it's a game changer.

Ok but again, kids have access to the internet much more easily now then they ever had before and with such accessibility comes even more warnings and precautions. Kids born nowadays have been beaten over the head whats real and internet safety. Honestly I think its best for adolescents to learn about the real world a bit quicker then being shut away from real knowledge. I mean explaining that santa isn't real is horrible as a parent, so why not let your kids find out for themselves slowly? It's alot less pain for both parent and kids. In my opinion I'm more afraid of fully grown adults that are more oblivious to facts about life then some children are. Ignorant kids turn into ignorant adults I say
@realfuckingdark
@realfuckingdark 2 жыл бұрын
@@peytonkennedy9987 I mean I didn't say they shouldn't have internet access at all. I just said that the parents should know what their children are looking at. That way they can carefully "dose" what their children are confronted with/exposed. Sure if they're older, rules about internet access can get looser but looking at horror stuff is definitely not something a 12 year old should do.

as someone who LOVED marble hornets and other web horror like it, this story always horrified me. im not gonna blame the parents or anything but kids need to have their internet habits monitored and taught the difference between fiction and reality.

Why? Because they shouldn't be held accountable for their actions?? This IS the parents fault!

As a parent to a young girl and her two best friends at that time period, Slender man scared me a little…maybe because I did not understand what it was and because the girls half way believed in it!

@@tammylynne5702 i should have worded it differently, im not going to *fully* blame the parents. they should have absolutely been on top of things. but i do believe the girls are at fault too (the girls who committed the crime, not the victim.) sorry, should have made that more clear in my original comment

Can someone refer me to the Away Tofana incident? I have watched a lot of Bailey's videos, but I am yet to come across it. And I think you don't fully join the cult unless you know about it XD

This hit a different way because my daughter is 12. My husband and I have always set boundaries and have been open with our kids about what is real or not. Fortunately what we are doing is working and I can’t complain. Things like this do scare me though but that’s why we are open with our kids.
