@@eldromedario3315 No, he was upset with Nigel Short because Short was one of the players to sign the letter to Kramnik urging him to continue against Topalov and basically agreeing that Topalov was a cheater during the toiletgate controversy. This player that didn't shake hands was a teammate of Topalov's. Before this game, there was a rule that a player that refuses to shake hands gets a forfeit. Short got up to complain and he was given the win by forfeit. Then they realized that that wasn't the rule any more but the player could be made to shake. So they played after shaking hands and Short won.

@@sreegovindganesh he was probably exhausted. World Chess Championship consists of 12 really long games - each player has 2 hours of time and gets more time after 40 moves, so these games can take many hours, e.g. the first game of the 2018 WC between Carlsen and Caruana lasted 7 hours

@@juststoic3809 No , actually the guy in the left wanted to shake hands (it was a rule for fairplay) but the one on the right was so concentrated that he didn't saw the hand gesture , so the guy in the left started to complain and the referee let him win by forfeit , because if you don't shake hands you lose by forfeit

They actually do! It's based off shogi, a Japanese variant of chess- it's called March comes in like a Lion. You should definitely give it a try :)

After Ivanchuk take the first place and become a World Rapid Champion, he back to his checkers game with Jobava and win in about two or three moves :-) Because Ivanchuk is not only strong chess supergrandmaster, but strong checkers player too :-)

Nope! White hit the clock without correcting the piece that fell over. That's totally not allowed. White must forfeit. The game does work in time scrambles. You must correct fallen pieces on your own time. That's the rule. A violation results in a loss of game. This is a violation. White lost the game.
