When it comes out of early access, The Wandering Village is such a nice little beginner city builder, especially for a new gamer. Having a very finite amount of space and simple mechanics makes for a game that doesn’t easily overwhelm but still provides the satisfaction of resource management and getting to watch cute lil' fellas walk around the little ant farm you've built for them. The guilt will only grow from here, young Blurbs. Ever stronger, ever more crushing, and all according to kekaku >:)

I'll have to check that out for the next time I do one of these videos, that is a genre I haven't broken into yet, so maybe that'll be a good avenue. Also yes all the according to plan my guilt will rise exponentially lol

Thank you for the comment and view, both are definitely worth checking out, Hades is a great intro to the roguelike genre.

Yes! Sniper Monkey! Good video, nice editing. All choices are really well made, from my point of view. Humor, on point as always!

This video was awesome. I've never even heard of Viewfinder before this, so it was great to learn about it. The way that you interspersed humor and used that kind of self deprecating angle kept the video engaging all throughout. It never drags on, its very concise and to the point while still having maintaining the punchiness and making great use of every minute. Excellent editing as well, without it being too over the top. Thank you Blurbs.

I'm curious what you'd recommend for RPGs, and also JRPGs in specific. I personally love the storytelling potential and power fantasies of the former (but understand some people struggle to enjoy them), while having never really been able to get into the latter.
@blurbstv
@blurbstv 10 ай бұрын
I'm not super experienced with RPGs or JRPGs. To be honest, I don't think I've ever even played a JRPG. The runtime on them is a little daunting for me as I typically prefer a shorter game. As for RPGs, I would say outer worlds is an excellent starting RPG, due to its smaller scope and multiple branching pathways.
@RuneKatashima
@RuneKatashima 7 ай бұрын
I wouldn't classify Outer Wilds as an RPG. However, for JRPGs Golden Sun or your favorite flavor of Final Fantasy all work, maybe one of the ones in the middle from 5 to 10. As the games are pretty easy to play and get in to.

@blurbstv

I definitely prefer hollow Knight to Ori, but for this list's sake I think Ori wins out. Also, I'm a big death's door fan even though I think tunic is a really good game.

@blurbstv why do you prefer hollow knight?, i played both twice and I think I like them about the same
@blurbstv
@blurbstv 10 ай бұрын
@@eranronen573 I just love the bosses, world building, weaving environment, and metroidvania progression of hollow knight. The way its world is designed and buckles back on itself gives it this incredible sense of place. Not to mention the music and the art which oozze atmosphere. It is a little hard, but once I overcame that, I became completely enamored with its design.

What about The Witness as a replacement for the recentcy biased VF? Never really enjoyed Ori, I think it is just a little bland, I think Cave Story might be easy enough to recommend. The remake probably even has an easy mode. We might even be able to combine a few, Supraland is probably the best, puzzle, metroidvania, open world game for beginners I know of. Isometric is not a genre????
@blurbstv
@blurbstv 10 ай бұрын
I would say the witness is a little brutal for an entry point though. Totally fair, I still need to try out cave story! I definitely think isometric is a genre, I think of games like tunic, the og Zelda, etc.. I think it sets itself apart as they all have similar mechanics and styles.

This is unture as uhm dark souls is good game for new much more rouge-like-like then hades I gave it to my 5 year old nephew and he cried so it is BETTER - in reality though I think it's neat how this vid just puts into perspective how many game genres there are, I can defo see a bunch of these kinds of vids for different genres like - Farming sim - souls-like - visual novel (WHICH BETTER BE DARK SOULS) So yeah cool vid! Love the recommendations even if I've only played Odessey

Yeah it would definitely be fun to expand on this and add a bunch more genres because there are like a thousand. I really want to put dark souls (demon souls for me) on this list but it's a really hard game so I probably shouldn't lol.
