They just don't sound good. I tried 3 different DACs to make them shine.

@@JayJay-jx3zg Each to their own but these are the best sounding headphones I've ever owned the bass and audio crispiness is sooo good. Maybe its something your end but after a few days of tweaking some settings i got them perfect

@@Matt-di6nb I tried to get them to shine, I really did. They sounded to "small" compared to all the other cans I have here. I even bought the GSX 1000 to go with them, but not enough power, to thin and too bright.

I play a lot of Hunt Showdown myself and were looking for a new headset as I cant tell whether enemies are coming from behind or the front with my current headset, do you use the open or closed back?

@@MrChugchugchug Nothing comes close. I still play Hunt Showdown every day using the H6Pros. I've tried Turtle Beach, Hyper X, Razer (the Blackshark V2 comes close if eq'd properly, but the positional audio isn't quite on par), Corsair, and Steelseries. The H6Pro is clearer and easier to find people, hands down.

Yeah bro, that’s exactly why I’m buying this pair of headphones because the mic Quality convinced me that they were way better mics out their for gaming headsets. Because I don’t game on a desk so I don’t really have space to get an actual professional mic hooked up to my console/PC so having a High quality mic with a comfortable and good audio pair of headphones is crucial for me. Because for a long time I thought good audio w/ comfort and a clear mic, were two very separate things (which they are) but EPOS proved that they don’t have to be…. Which is big joy for me and the fact is that that are only slightly more expensive than then my previous pair of headphones that I had (slight discount I got on a pier of A40s, because I had a coupon). This is literally huge for me.

Im a bit disapointed by the sound level. In spotify it pushes out good music. Beautiful. But in game, after 8 hours og twerking in eq, it still not loud.

Switching usb helped you. What about bitrate in windows. Can you change that. Mine stucked at 16

@@vahidghiasvand9087 16bit 48000hz is the max it supports for 7.1 surround sound. If you want higher bitrate you will have to change to 2.1 (under windows-sound-configure menu). You should then be able to select up to 24bit 96000hz.

I think tech coming from so many “gaming” headsets just prefers and got more accustomed to closed back base heavy headsets.

@2LoLGaming possibly, I've since upgraded to the game one/ gsx1000 and I definitely feel like they are a bit louder however I did for a brief time use them off of the dac and had a hard time telling the difference it could depend on your onboard sound card

Do you remember what settings you used for the dac? I just got the open backs but they seem a lot quieter then my old pc38x’s

@@HuntingLikeAPro if you are using the GSX 300 i just used default settings in the software with side tone turned up a little bit , if you are using the gsx1000 there aren't much you can change in terms of settings but its a much more robust dac , just keep surround off if your using discord and make sure all of the windows volumes are max and it sounded pretty good, I kept mine on the game preset.

I came from a BlackShark V2 Pro, again, after watching you talking warm about it. There is a But. I noticed, that this headset is not as "loud" as the Blackshark V2 Pro or the artic pro. Its like something is holding it back in warzone. Some sounds fades away, and do not come out like they should. In wondows, i can only chose 16 bit, and not the 24 bit.! Is there a solution or something? Or is this headset just not "that loud"?

You don't need a dac for a wireless device because wireless headphones have a dac built directly into the headphones themselves. There's no reason to have a desk mounted dac for a wireless pair of headphones, it offers no benefit.

@@Chronospherics You misunderstood. I stated like the SteelSeries Pro Wireless. Yes wireless headsets have a built in amp and so does the Pro Wireless, but it’s dedicated dac doesn’t require a PC to customise EQ and all the other aspects of the headset. With the Epos one I’m Thai video, you need to plug into the PC to use their software in order to make any adjustment. If you’re a PC gamer it’s fine, but for those on console, keep unplugging and replugging would get exhausting.

@@famezy9103 I do understand what you're saying but you should be able to do that with a dac in the headphones and something like an app on your mobile phone. Particularly with these devices that support bluetooth and 2.4g wireless. For instance, you can do that with the Audeze Penrose, but the app kind of sucks and it's only on Android.

@@Chronospherics wireless Dac is also handy for console players I use my old pro wireless with optical to my tv so i can use my tv, xbox and playstation without needing bluetooth or extra cables or having to hot swap dongles between consoles

@@Chronospherics Unfortunately not every headset has that option with an app. On PC it’s ok, because there are lots of EQ programmes you can download, but again that’s mostly for wired headphones.

@@eldemetrio5048 depends. mmx300 without a soundcard is quiet and when listening to music it sounds it just doesnt get loud enough on its own. with the gsx 300 you can crank it and its just god damn insane with how many small details you can hear in songs, it feels like you know what they intended in the studio when mixing or something. on the other hand h6 pro on its own gets loud and slaps hard as hell when playing games, listening to music etc. and with the gsx 300 good lord i had to turn down elden ring alot because parry and stagger sounds slapped so hard and when listening to music its just so damn good if you just wanna blast your ears. you cant go wrong with any of those combo's, but id say they h6 pro and gsx 300 combo is unbeatable in a deal especially. only real reason i see for getting a mmx300 and spending way more is that you like really detailed music, you get a really good deal on one or that you prefer the microphone which honestly is THE BEST headset microphone i have ever used. i hope this helps. :)

If you are talking to your friends on coms, if it loud to other people around you?

I dont have the bundle, so its hard to say but for me if i plugged mine into the back of the PC it was much quieter than if i plugged it into the top next to the power button. Also i have the Elgato Wave 3 mic and i tried plugging it into that and it was even louder but i felt like i lost alot of base and detail when in the mic

@@alberto_el_tercero my wife can hear others talk when she is in the room with me but not super loud. If the other person is screaming or talking loud then yes she can definitely hear it in the room and know what they are saying

also as far as i know the mic has never picked up sound coming from the headset either so that is good

I tried H3 Pro Hybrid (wireless) for a few days. The set was just too buggy so it got returned, those things are not fit for consumer purchase which is why you hardly see reviews and they aren't carried in store ANYWHERE. However, the sound quality, when they worked was a step above the ANPW. The ANPW get louder and have more details in the mid/highs. The bass and punch on the EPOS were solid though, definitely a cut above the ANPW. However the fish bowl effect of those closed backs and clamp was like wearing ear muffs at the shooting range. For gaming the ANPW are superior hands down. The directional positioning is the best I've heard. ANPW mic is better too. The wired do have me interested if this ANC bump cannot be overcome on the ANPW headset.

When in doubt send them out! Lol. I'm on headset number 2 because I hated the nova 7x. So hopefully h6pro will be ok and il be done.

What did you end up going with. I have those too and I tried steel series nova 7x and hated them, they sounded so off and weird compared to the black sharks, they even hurt my ears because the odd tones used in the headset, I've never had that happen. So I'm looking at these now and hope they work well, I'm not chasing footsteps so I hope they just have a full sound with decent bass.

@@dutchwastednl4531 no saving on PS5... I only use the GSX on PS5 cause I don't like to put the headphone by the controller... For spatial sound or simulation, enable the tempest 3d audio.

@@TheTechne yeah I ended up finishing the video and got an answer 😅 Still welcome further opinions but looks like for my specific scenario the Nova pros look to be the way. $680 AUD though for wireless which is hefty compared to $350AUD. I love the chat/game function and the features with SS though. I’ve unfortunately had 3 Arctic Pros break within the last 2 years due to the known right cup issues so that makes me iffy on the Nova. I’m super indecisive if it’s not obvious. Thanks for all the coverage though you legend!

Look up the Turtle Beach Stealth Max headsets. They use a dongle and are compatible with PS5, Xbox, PC, and the Switch. If it has a USB port, the headset works.
