Can’t wait to see the garden in its prime💚 Carrot germination trick: Cover your rows of carrots you seeded with the black plastic for about 4 days or until you see germination and it will protect from weed seeds blowing In before your carrots germinate. It hold moisture in, germination is faster, and helps the carrots get established before the weeds take over. Your doing awesome 😇

I’m new to gardening food and I’m noticing how much I can save on groceries if I simply grow my own food. Especially when the crops net me more seeds to grow even more food. I just spent a good portion of my morning planting seeds. I’m curious to know about companion planting. Can you share some insight on what you’ve found are best companions? Thanks 😊.

Love how you said it! Sometimes the luxury of time if worth spending extra money, rather than giving your time to save a few bucks. If the savings are significant enough, I've been finding it more worthwhile and peaceful to pay a little extra (i.e. I won't have to turn around and work more hours to pay for the upgrade that I could've done myself and end up costing more time than worth, which I've mistakenly done). I cannot wait to see the garden bloom this Spring!

I am 62 years old and when I was around 12 or 13 my grandmother had one of those we loved it I am sure they have upgraded them since 1973 she paid a lot less for hers but you are so right about saving time

Right! While most people run to get out of the rain, I run to get into it…garden pots and house plants in tote 🙌🏾. For the ones I can’t put outside, I collect rain water to water them with. I love the rain. 💚

Oh I didn't know that about carrots! I sowed mine before a big storm in our raised bed. I've been concerned it got too much rain but I guess they are okay! I have a seed sower. We've had it for years and we love it. I agree with you about time! Edit We NOT pay that much for our seeder lol just $100 at a farm conference.

I've seen folks use a flame weeder on a carrot row about 10-11 days after seeding to get rid of sprouting weed seeds just before the carrots emerge. Please show us your propagation area 😊
