Junkers has also automatic watches in the Bauhaus and Bauhaus 100 Jahre series. Also, Zeppelin watches are made by the same company and can be found on the same website as Junkers watches. They’re essentially the same watches with different dials and branding. Love the Bauhaus series!

Thx Teddy! The Stowa ticks off the things I'm looking for in a watch for dress & everyday. Heritage German brand, 38 or less, lume, no date, ETA manual and not too "sporty" to me; plus under $750. As you mentioned, looks like I can use a bracelet, leather or NATO on it. If I get the new job this week I'm buying myself one as a present! The Max Bill manual was a very close second!! Thx again!

Great video as always! I have a Graff Zeppelin Hindenburg series, rose gold case with a black dial, black band, and a Miyota 9015 series movement. It is absolutely gorgeous, my co-workers ask me about it all the time with someone even commenting that it has steam punk vibe to it. It definitely has a early 20th century design element to it. I paid $300 for it. Wish I could share a pic of it on here, but its becoming one of my favorite watches in my collection

Some amazing German brands .. A word of caution though some of the cheaper brands featured are almost certainly not German made . Acquiring the names of defunct brands with heritage is a trick often favoured by the Chinese in attempt to add prestige to what is often junk...

great video as always! I know pronunciation is difficult for some German names. But simply say Braun like "brown" its a lot more accurate.
@thewheelieguy4 жыл бұрын
Difficulty for Americans: In the advertising here the company pronounces it "brawn", presumably because "brown" does not sound *European* enough. It blew my mind when I first saw a Braun ad in German, and I realized yes: "au" in Braun is pronounced as 'ow', as Donau River.

Dude it’s sad but Russian watches are total crap. Saying that as a Russian. We can’t deliver any good mass consumer production since the Revolution, only heavy-duty like submarines or anti-air missiles. And some high-end handcrafted stuff too, sometimes. Not mass one.
@Robozgraggi5 жыл бұрын
You guys shouldn't be so negative about your watches... Yes, the quality of Russian watches varies quite a bit. But the point of getting a Russian watch isn't its perceived "quality" but its charm, that very special "cool factor" you don't get from others. It's the exact same thing with your military hardware: mostly ugly as f*ck but always very functional and robust with the same "cool factor"! I'm a sucker for your watches and I'm also Swiss by the way. My 25$ Komandirskie has way more wrist time than my Submariner. You don"t need to understand, but be glad that there are people out there that genuinly like your country's watches!

@@424dsfdsfdsfs Sorry but I have to counter that. I've got a Russian automatic dresswatch that's incredibly thin (about 6mm) and it's still running perfectly after after about 20 years. I honestly don't know what they're making now but I am quite impressed with what they have done.

My favorite German watch right now is the Junghans Meister Telemeter. I love the vintage inspired look and coming in at 40mm for a chrono is a winner for my wrist. The Nomos Zurich World Time in midnight blue comes in at a close second in my book. Which top 3-5 dress watches (from any country) would you recommend, which meet the following criteria: 1) white dial; 2) wearable with business suits; 3) wears well with larger wrists (maybe 40+mm); 4). black leather strap, 5). clean/classy, and 6). under $1k. I am looking at German watches for a while, what i don't like about them is the printed/painted dialnumbers. JeanPaul Saw the quartz Max Bill recently while trying on the Automatik and the manual wind at the local shop. The manual winds are a little small. I glanced over at the more affordably priced quartz pieces and the guy scoffed saying there is just a computer in those. As if to say they are not real watches. They all look nice to me, however. Am contemplating the Junghans Meister Telemeter gold version 027/5382.00 which is available for 1490 EUR ( 1723 USD) at the moment. Still expensive though...which is probably why we hesitate...

About Junkers: First of all, it's pronounced YOONKERS. Second, much of the appeal of the brand isn't just the style. Junkers is a legendary, historical aircraft company. the current Junkers watch brand was established by members of the original Junkers family and the watch designs elude to the aircraft designs. This is especially notable with the Tante Ju (a nickname for the legendary JU52).
