If you're starting seeds indoors this year, you definitely need to invest in some good grow lights. Grow lights are critical to healthy plants. You can find affordable grow lights on Amazon. Nothing beats fluorescent lights for seedlings. NOTHING. (for indoor growing). 😊

Thank you. I have the same lights with clip. Just started lettuce, cabbage and peppers. I have 3 (12) chamber starter trays. They’ve sprouted but are stringy after 1 week 😀😀😀

Thanks for the info . QUESTION: at what point do you turn the lights out? Is it basically when ready to put outside? Or do you transplant into a large container leave the light on and let them grow more before setting outside?

Hi from the UK. I’m new to your channel and last year I bought some grow lights like the first one you demonstrated and was just wondering how close to the newly sown seeds should the lights be?

Once the seeds sprout, I would recommend keeping them about 2-3 inches from the top of the plant. You'll be able to tell if the plant is "reaching" for the light and you need to move it closer. If it's too close, you might see some spots on the seedlings. I'd start farther away and then move closer if necessary!

The gooseneck one what colour indicates the time, I’m using Likesuns but it doesn’t show numbers just colours red, green, blue. Which colour is 12 hours

I purchased the 3 prong clip on light you recommended but I am unclear how long I should use each switch mode (warm white/Red+Blue/Sunlight White) during each 12-16 hour cycle. Or should I leave the light in one mode? I am using this for my seedlings.

I leave it the mode that has both the red+blue light! It's worked well for me!

I bought some led full spectrum red/blue 4ft strips and a shelf. My biggest concern or question is how far to place above the seedlings. They don't have reflectors. And I am not sure of the lumens yet either.

The light's manufacturer might have a recommendation or even folks in the comments for your product. We keep ours ~6 inches above young seedlings and they do well! But they also have the purple diffusers on them and aren't INSANELY bright. Just use good judgement, if it seems too close or bright for a living thing it probably is!

My advice don't use blurple grow lights they aren't as efficient as the day light leds you get better light spectrum and penetration to the leaves

Newbie I ordered 50 White Pine seedings. The seller recommended I grow them for a year before I plant them to make them stronger. During this period I would like to grow them inside my home. What system do you recommend. Will this system work? Is it possible to grow pine trees seedings indoors?

Never tried starting trees from seedling! We always buy saplings from a nursery, or many times we have gotten free 3' saplings that are given out by local programs working to promote tree planting. I'd try looking into that too! But I'd guess that tree seedlings will grow similar to any indoor house plant or seedling.

My dad uses AreoGarden. You don’t have to water it. The light is adjustable as the plants grow. The light is set on a timer that you set up

Those clip lights are absolute garbage the other ones are ok but for the price you can get a cheap fluorescent ballast and buy some led bulbs for alot cheaper if all your doing is starting seeds on a shelving unit

They work great for us and many others. If you don't have somewhere to hang overhead lights (such as a shelving unit), you need something that can clip onto the edge of a table or counter.

@@mainedoglady theres better options you can build shelving or just mount led bulbs in some floro fixtures ,these just don't have the output for much other than starting seeds or supplemental lighting

Those lights are trash. I literally returned the same exact ones earlier today because the clamp doesn’t support the weight of the lights and they ended up falling onto seedlings causing one to snap in half. Do not get those lights. Get ones that hang and are adjustable

You must have got something different, because I just checked ours and they are clamped firmly onto the edge of our countertop and hovering over our onions as I type this! Hanging are okay, we have those too, but less versatile

I have these lights and they work fine. No slipping or crashing onto my seedlings. I had hanging ones that would always fall.
