This installment is a compete guide on how to diagnose/ replace an alternator on a 1990-1996 Nissan 300zx. In the video I go over the issues I randomly started having with my z32.
I tried to make the video as simple as possible for everyone! thanks for all the love recently and we are pushing for that 5K mark!

For me I pulled the clutch fan off and fan shrouds and pulled the alternator up through the top.

Excellent video!!! I had the same symptoms I ignored them completely and i believe the bearings are busted in my alternator it wont even crank now the fuel pump just primes when I turn the key, also what is the red light that illuminates next to the abs at the top? Mines stays on a majority of the time while driving.

Thanks for the video. It has been a long time (2007) since I last had the alternator out of my Z and well now (2021) I have to change it. I think I'll be pulling my radiator to get at mine, I have a hard pipe installed on my lower radiator so i think it will just be easier. I'm not being critical, but I was sure it was not called a peacock, it is a petcock (I thought it was called a pepcock). Anyway, I don't know if you noticed but @13:54 you can see the plugs silicon rubber weather packing is stuck in the old alternator. If it were my car I would be bummed, but I would be putting my car back on the ramps and placing that rubber seal back in the plug.

When i use to work on my car i made ramps out of 12x2 with 18" long step ups to your desired height. Just drive on up and you have all kinds of room to work.

Have a 1990 and my acceleration is tripping out. my car doesn’t accelerate well at lights and stop signs. It’s very sluggish. got battery and alternator tested at orielys today. Told me I had a bad alternator. My thermostat and headlights dim when I hit the breaks or when car is idle until get some gas. but do you think the alternator can affect the acceleration

The car runs on the alternator when driving. I would def swap out and see if it fixes your issue

whats the piece the sway bar bolts up to, i jacked from there and moved it out of place and sway bar wont bolt back up. i should have kept back bolt in, many mistakes but ikyk all z parts ty for help

I have a 93zx NA. Every time I start the car it will start and turn off but on the second time it will start normal. Does anyone else have the same issues or any suggestions to fix it?

It's a little weird I never had to drop the sway bar to get my alternator out of my 300zx

I've always had trouble trying to shimmy it through, so I found out if you take one bolt out makes it so easy

@@ZBruhzchannel when I had to do my alternator people were saying take the sway bar off I could get the old alternator through without doing that it is a tight squeeze though
