For those who are into emulation or thinking about it, look into the Anbernic RG systems. They are great!! And affordable. Can play up to psp games depending on the system. This is for classic game lovers. Not modern games.

The intro segment about Nintendo Switch seemed like it almost hurt to admit. Facts are facts- Switch is dominating 9th generation. Yes, Switch is officially competing with Series X|S/PS5 for just as long as it was with XBONE/PS4 now, and it looks like it will continue to dominate until Nintendo starts 10th generation with a Switch successor.

New Nintendo 3DS XL and Gameboy Advance SP are my personal favorite handheld consoles. The PSP and PS Vita can play roms of old school games too, so I'd love those both too for that reason alone.

I'm sure you're trying to avoid even the remotest possibility of covering any handheld that is capable of piracy, but it feels like an extreme disservice to recommend anything like the Evercade or Analogue Pocket without at least mentioning the many fantastic (and CHEAAAP) devices from Retroid, Anbernic, Pow Kiddy, etc.

For those who dont know the steam deck does run switch games via emulator pretty well. Yes that includes tears of the kingdom. Its nice to have one device thst can play mario odyssey, last of us, and gears 5 in one device.

The budget choice here is an odd one IMO, you would be far better getting something like a Anbernic RG35XX (or Miyoo Mini Plus) which can play everything upto a PS1 and only costs around $60.

The gpd win 4 really should have been in the spot of the ayaneo. It's priced similarly, has a slide out keyboard and mouse track pad, supports thunderbolt and fits into a pocket all while having the same power.

All high end handles have their own pros cons but also the high price. Only steamdeck has the best performance/price ratio and the best customer services and supports.

My 2yr old Fold 3 is my favourite console at the moment. 120hz samoled display 256gb onboard, glap controller , runs psp,ps1 ,ps2 nds and more in my pocket❤

@2pak100 nope. It's got 2 triggers on both sides , 2 analogs , dpad and 4 buttons along with select, start and 2 Android buttons (home and back). Highly recommend it , won't cost alot ($30-40)

"Best Handheld Gaming PCs" is really subjective. It's still early days. Many people have different preferences for size, power, specs, features and price. Handheld Gaming PCs will grow to be a huge market and offer things to suite different tastes.

It's not rumored to be more powerful. It already is. Current gen handheld gaming Pcs use AMD 6800U + 680M gpus and have been real world gaming benchmarks better performers than the Steam Deck's 2021 specs. Next gen hanheld gaming Pcs like the Asus ROG Ally, Aya, GPD Win and OneNet will be rocking AMD 7840U + 780M gpus that are expected to run more powerful. Asus ROG Ally is purported to have two SKUs a cheaper Z1 chip and a more premium Z1 Extreme which are customized AMD 7640 and 7840U RDNA 3 ZEN 4 APUS. The Steam Deck was great because it limelighted handheld gaming PCs and introduces the masses to Linux Gaming The thing is these are still Pcs in the end and not consoles. gaming Pcs by their nature come out nearly every year with more powerful specs. So if Valve wants to compete in the Handheld Gaming PC space they will be forced to release Steam Deck successors sooner rather than later. The Steam Deck's touted "price to performance" value will diminish relatively quick when compared to other Handheld Gaming PCs that come out every year with more powerful specs at around the same price ranges. There are PC gamers, like myself that prefer more powerful Handheld Gaming PCs over the Steam Deck and are more accustomed to the higher prices compared to console gamers.

The ayaneo is not a steam deck killer not by a long shot lol the price for what your getting for the steam deck plus verifications, massive support from steam & the community & the fact that u get frequent & improved updates to better your steam deck experience is the reason why the steam deck is better & is what beats the aya neo 2. In general the majority of ppl don’t care much about the boost In performance from the aya neo as the steam deck is more appealing to the majority of ppl than to enthusiasts or a small percentage of ppl that do buy the aya neo 2. Heck even enthusiasts agree that the steam deck is a game changer. While the hardware is not better than the aya neo 2 the UI & software of the steam deck as well as the price & the support that it gets is more worth it then buying a $900-1000 dollar handheld gaming Pc.

Analogue's business model makes no sense, unless they're hoarding their own product to sell on the secondary market. Otherwise, they'd be better off making to demand.
