Thanks! They’re almost interchangeable. Higher rear shock and skinnier rear tire on the heritage arguably gives it a better ride and is the practical choice, but the fatboy looks the part. Appreciate the view and comments!

My 1st pick also is the Fat Boy . . . but the twin cam version (pre-2018). If you haven't already, do yourself a favor and try one out, esp. the 2016 or 2017 model for it's evolutionary peak performance. If you do, I'd love to hear what you think.

I have not ridden the TC version. I’ve ridden the EVO and M8. But I have plans for more first rides on used bikes and a 103ci Fatboy is on the list!

I 100% agree with your Touring bike King but not so much on the Softail even though I own both the RGS and Fatboy. I love the Fatboy but the LRST or Heritage is my favorite of the new Softail chassis.

Thanks for commenting! The softail decision came down to how the stock ergos fit me. Given latitude to rate based on replacing stock parts then the outcome might be different. At six foot tall, the FXLRST is not comfortable and the Fatboy stock tuning outperformed the Heritage in my test runs.

I owned a 2017 Road King Special... It's a nice motorcycle but the Suspension is not that great. Especially compared to the HD I traded it for... A 2022 Heritage Classic 114... This Softail has superior suspension. The more I ride my Heritage Classic the more I love it. Redline Red and Black Two Tone with the Cast Wheels

Thank you for sharing that point, I didn’t nail down on that as much as I should have. The heritage and FXLRST share the same mono shock part number, touring models all have a dual shock set up on what resembles basically an FXR frame, less travel. Many owners upgrade their stock touring suspension.

Have to say, the Sportster S may perform well, but it truly is fugly. I compare it to my new black Low Rider S and there's no comparison in the looks or sound dept. And the big 1923cc V twin is real purdy. I do like the headlight tho.

It’s really Fugly. One time I rode the sportster S back to back against a stage III low rider S and that’s when the light bulb went off for me, stock to stock the sportster S can keep up, once you begin modding the M8, game over. Headlight is cool.

I agree with you about the Fatboy, but Road-Glides are but ugly, so Road King for the win Everything you need, nothing you don't

The RoadKing was a close 2nd. For touring at highway speeds 70+ The gauges up high and storage within the fairing tipped the scale. If I removed long distance multi day touring yeah Road King for sure.
