One of the best headphones I ever owned, for listening music, for monitoring when I’m playing guitar, gaming and for mixing. Only $189, cheaper than my AirPods Pro.

I have made the mistake of not changing out the earpads and my ears always hurt wearing these headphones. Ive kept putting it off but the stock ear pads also peel pretty quickly so definitely gonna pick up new ones.

ive used these headphones for 5 years, still in great condition, but Im so happy to be replacing them. Nowhere near as good as everyone says, comfort and sound quality wise

I had mine for 10 years and the bass in them is all gone now. It just sounds like I’m listening through tin cups

Used have these a while ago and although they served their purpose along came Beyerdynamic`s DT 1770 Pro`s annnnd...End of story....

I still have the old ones you have and they are 13 years old but the headstrap is falling apart so I think I am going to get some new ones

Wicked Cushions have some headband sleeves that can alleviate the need for new headphones, if they still work. It's like 20 bucks, it goes around the headband. Gets the job done.

Had the same issue. You can buy a headband zip cover to easily fix and add comfort to the headphone. If you know how to solder, you could even buy a replacement headstrap (either official or aftermarket)

I wanted to buy them, but when I tried them at the store, they didn't sound loud, I like to listem to music pretty loud. I tried them using bluetooth (ATHM50xBT2) Based in your experience, do you think that they didnt sound loud becauae i tried them with bluetooth? I have a focusrite audio interphase, I can amplify the headphones with them, do you think that will be my solution?

is m40x and m50x can be use without DAC/Amp for mixing vocals,instrumentals..etc. and can it be use directly with cellphones?laptops?desktops? i mean is it all arounder? looking forward on this and sony mdr7506..pls help..

Yeah the M50x are 38 ohms if I remember, no DAC necessary. I've had them for over 10 years and they sound just as good as day 1.

If you are only using them for mixing/lis5ening to music and not recording guitars or vocals go with the DT 990 pros. They have a far wider sound stage which i'll tell you right now, is soooooooo worth it, for me atleast when listening to desne tracks or mixing dense track wide soundstage make it feel like you're physically in the music

You need an amp for the best quality but works with any 3,5 mm

I'd also look at SRH440, MAudio Q40 sounds better in every way than the M50, but their build quality is pretty bad

Trash how? Can you elaborate? What makes wicked so good? Also I only see PU options, no real leather. While there are people on both sides of the usage of animal products, it is a fact that both the production and use of polyurethane is toxic to the environment and to humans. Obviously we can’t completely eliminate the use of synthetic materials, but this is something that is in constant contact with our warm sweaty porous skin.

It's M50x in the video, but there are bluetooth versions-- the M50x-BT and the M50x-BT2

I find the headphones to be among the most comfortable without head clamping force. I personally would not change the pads because it changes how they sound and NOT for the better. They sound so hollow those tiles need to be at the distance recommended. I wish I could had big thick ear pads.

sorry. not even close to the best headphones. for the price they are good. i only use the BT2 version sometimes. R70x are better

quantity wise yes, quality wise it depends on your preference, it is boosted for sure. I personally don't mind it.

i find that newer audio technica headphones aren't really build that well anymore... I got the m40x about 2 years ago and after 3 months of only home use the hinge just disintegrated into pieces when putting them on my head. The retailer didn't wanna fix them because "the damage must've been user error". They were also very creaky and squeaky all the time as soon as you moved just a bit. My friend has the M50x which do feel just slightly better build but still have the same issues... I would not really recommend them. They seem really great on paper and at first sight but over time dont really prove to be great headphones. Theres much better headphones out that around that price both sound wise and build wise. AKG K612 and K617 are so much better sounding Beyerdynamic DT770 pro are so much better built, and also sound better for everyday stuff (AKG does sound slightly better but not as well built) People will mention that beyer doesn't have a detachable cable, but the cable is user replaceable if you have a soldering iron and its very very easy to do so IMO there's absolutely no reason to buy audio technica headphones

Those are one of the most overrated headphones on the market. Hype for them is huge while their actual performance is in fact mediocre at most. I have no clue why they get recommended all the time.

@@qrabbin3482 I think a lot of producers use them because their slightly above average performance is decent sounding but also still close to how most audiences will hear the music. If you use super high end headphones it will be very far from most car stereos, Bluetooth speakers, and phone speakers.
