Hey great videos. I've done some screen printing of t-shirts before and have been thinking about gettin back into the shirt biz. I was wondering your thoughts about the vinyl process compared to screen printing and direct to garment printing? Seems like vinyl is the most labor intensive but probably cheapest for investment and materials. Would you agree with that? But to me the other question is quality. Seems like vinyl shirts just look better so I think you can probably charge more. Do you agree and it that true (that ppl will pay more)? If love input from anyone that's done any of these. Thanks!

Yo Big Brando, I got into this business about three months ago because I watched a video you made and a whole bunch of other videos came up with you, Stan Banks and Reyes the entreprenur. Anyway I haven't made any money yet because I'm still learning how to use my equipment and I have another job. but I guess I got real lucky because I found out about McLogan's when I first started looking for vinyl my first time out. I love that place. I just bought a inkjet printer and I'm not sure if I should turn it into sublimation yet. like I said I haven't made any money yet but thanks for inspiring and showing a brother another way to make money because I know it's coming soon. Man I was using the cricut vinyl last night and was struggling to get it to stick on my shirts. I had to keep pressing and increasing the temperature and pressure on my machine. Idk if it was my machine but I never had that problem with siser.

yeahhh! when you find the right settings for the htv you use and it holds up. stick with it! Get that money!

Thermoflex has a true matte finish where siser has a satin gloss. Try pressing black from each brand. You definitely notice the difference.

Big Brandoh Definitely agree. If I have a large enough customer order and enough time to fill it, I order Thermoflex. If I have to bang some shirts out quickly, I use siser from a local spot.

Sister is the name brand there are several types of siser vinyls including a thermoflex under the name siser..some people may get confused

DTG printers will give you great quality for full color printing on a t shirt.

Is it called Revolution Materials HTV with adhesive at McLogan? And does it have a sticky back? I’m currently buying from a shop near me but this option would be about $3.50 cheaper per yard.

Your thoughts on weeding the media you use? I use stahls media and at times the vinyl doesn't stay on the film, its lifts up. Especially with detailed artwork.

ive never run into issues weeding with siser or thermoflex. so far so good. i've cut some pretty detailed stuff and didnt run into any problems.

What kind of inkjet heat press vinyl do you use? I see siser sells some sheets but pretty expensive for 5 sheets like $23. I'd prefer rolls and cut my own sheets if that's even possible to get,. I welcome your feedback.

We are using easyweed vinyl with our HPN press, after a few washes it seems that the vinyl is wrinkling and cracking. Am I doing something wrong?

that wont work. decal vinyl isnt made for shirts. you need to buy heat transfer vinyl for shirts.

not sure. what types of materials do want in a gym shirt. look at some of your favorite fitness apparel and see what materials they use and source from there.

Sorry for asking this dumb question. How do you use the vinyl rolls on the camel silhouette? Do you cut them to the size you need?

you can either cut the vinyl off the roll to your desired size. check out my video on that. or you can load it off the roll and let it cut. when you load it off the roll you have to make sure that the roll can spin freely. would be best to make something like paper towel holder and slide a stick or bar through the roll.

I've used Stahls and Siser. Was NOT impressed with the Stahls so now I always re-order Siser. Cuts nicer and hot peels like butta.

I have trouble with Silver stretch lifting... I have applied it correctly. Now, I'm afraid to continue using any Siser product.

lifting usually happens when not enough pressure is applied or if your shirt still has moisture in it. keep pre pressing till dont see any steam lift off the shirt. and then adjust your pressure to press a little heavier.

It’s something about the siser stretch. A lot of ppl including myself have peeling issues. Only with the stretch. Heavy pressure higher temp etc. Siser has addressed the issue but I’m kinda skeptical now.

any vinyl is good. its more important to find out what materials make up "dri fit" and buy the vinyl made for that type of material.

it should be set at what the recommended instructions say. start there and then adjust as needed.

i've never used that printer. i've seen demo's at ISS and i never liked the feel of the print. so i never thought about investing in that printer. if you feel it would benefit you, by all means... go for it. But for myself, thats not the type of product i would want to offer my customers.

Im having problems getting the siser vinyl off the backing with the heat transfer tape. No matter how light or how hard I press the tape on it just doesnt come off the backing easily

no transfer tape is needed for HTV. just cut, weed and press.

i dont use any silicone paper. if your talkin bout the tan teflon sheets. i use the ones from amazon and also the ones from heat press nation. they both work fine for me. no issues

Brandoh it's tweakz. What the most high quality shirt. And if I wanted to make my own shirts who would I need to talk to . Brand kinda stuff. At minimum imma just make own clothes as a start . Have a passion in looking fresh. Not follow the crowd. . When I say best shirt . I want my tag on the bag but Uber high quality. For me to begin. Make some art to wear clean. But I don't want shaka or aaa. Ppl will dis the art. How should it be done.. I may buy a loom and sowing machine.
